I've seen it in action and the only thing I don't like is the noise it makes, that chirping sound would drive me insane. Is it possible to change the noise to something similar to the Escort Redline?
I don't know what the Redline sounds like but I will try to change the sounds to something else.

First three months of owning this car, I got pulled over 3 times for speeding.

Next 21 months? 0 times. Have I slowed down? no, not really.

Speeding tickets are so inconsistent and random, its hard to really to talk about trends.

The Other State!

The Highway Patrol loves to write out tickets to brightly colored cars badged from the state next to them.

I've had more tickets in my Yellow Escort than I did in my Black Mustang.

You're not using it right, it comes up on the car display on Sync 3. Don't have to touch your phone to report or view Waze. Of course it's not infallible and only as good as information provided but it reduces your chances of being caught and helped me out on a number of occasions.
Not everyone has sync 3 or something simliar. Believe me the folks I know that use it all do it on their phone.

I just don't speed. It doesn't really save you any time (if you do the math especially on short trips) and I don't like paying money to the state or increased insurance rates.

I'd rather spend it on good Bourbon.

You could use cruise control to stay under the limit, but really, what fun is that?

Invest in countermeasures.

Waze, as mentioned, will alert you where cops have been reported. Its not perfect and there are plenty of false alerts, but it has saved me countless times.

Radar Detector. Now, you'll find alot of people saying they dont work. The catch is, you have to buy a good one. I would recommend one with GPS lockouts so that false alerts dont drive you crazy. Uniden R3 is a great unit. Escort Redline and Valentine One are good units but no GPS. You could go with an installed unit for stealth like an Escort 9500ci too, this is one of the detectors I have.

Laser Jammers. IF laser is used in your area, you should look into ALP jammers and how to use them properly. First I would try to see if it's actually a threat, because they are expensive. But if its common where you are, they're priceless. My system has paid for itself several times over.

Remember that all these things are layers of protection. The more layers you have, the less chance of a ticket. But none of them are perfect, and eventually, you'll still get a ticket. But the more layers, the better.

I enjoy speeding, even before I had my Mustang. I was averaging a speeding ticket every 3 months. I invested in everything mentioned above, did not change my driving habits, and then went 1 year and 10 months with no ticket. If that isn't proof that countermeasures work, nothing is.

I highly recommend you sign up on RDF Forum. It is a great forum community for all the things I mentioned, I am a semi-active member there and there is all the info you need to know on that board. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, I should have the answers. I'm as much of a nut about countermeasures as I am about Mustangs :D

Curious, what laser jammer do you use?
Anti-Laser Priority, or ALP for short. There is really only one reseller for this brand in the united states so check out this link if you are interested. I run a 3 sensor setup on the Mustang with the HiFi speaker and it has yet to fail me. I've been hit well over 100 times since install, 75% of the time 10+ over the speed limit so they have saved my ass a lot!

Go do a track day.
After he gave me the warning, we spoke for a minute. He wanted to know how fast it was. I told him I really don't know. I haven't opened it up yet. I told him there's no fun to speed on the streets. I know the value of a road course. You can't have the same fun on the street with all those dangers of an uncontrolled environment. I told him I was planning to go to Inde Motorsports in Tucson area at some point.

After thinking about it....I should've offered him the car for a spin. He definitely deserved it.

I speed a ton, yet to been pulled over for speeding.

Only been pulled over because my car is extremely loud and my dumb ass started revving it at the lights because people wanted to hear the blowoff valve lol.

Knock on wood though, of course :p

I don't think you can customize the sounds (of Uniden R3), only turn down the volume.

I would start using Waze ALL THE TIME, and getting a good radar detector (avoid Cobras and Escorts as much as you can... the first don't work and the second ones are way over priced for the performance they give you IMO). A Uniden R1 or R3 are the top performers as of now (they are also sold out and in backorder), a V1 is also a good option but you need to be more tech savvy to truly get the most out of it.

And last but not least, a good set of Laser jammers (get ALPs, it is the only system that works against all new laser guns).

Also, fight the ticket (every ticket) and check rdforum.org for more advice and guidance.

I have been ticket free all my life, thanks to Waze, radar detector, laser jammers and most importantly, situational awareness.

This! You cannot go wrong with them. I have 3 up front and 3 in the back with the new TX head. :headbang:
