Picked up the car last week and noticed this while detailing it at home.

Corner of the decklid driver's side.

Epoxy seam along the declid. Not sure wtf happened here.

I know you shouldn't but when you've got bigger problems with the car then these seem very small.

Is any of that visible when the trunk is closed?

Sloppy & annoying to be sure, but if it's solid I'd probably just live with it since I assume it can't be seen from the outside. I wouldn't want the dealer to try and repaint or even get a replacement lid (which would require they paint it & blend it into the quarters).

Even though it doesn't look very good, as others have said it would be something to just leave alone and ignore as trying to fix it might not come out well either - mostly with Ruby Red metallic. Ford really doesn't care how some of the inside areas of the trunk, doors and hood turn out.

Heck, on my black GT if the sun is shinning inside the front of the driver's side door I can see where the paint sprayer missed some areas. I know they are there, but fixing it would be out of the question.

Some sloppy work by ford, Honestly I would leave it as long as its not visible on the outside it wouldn't bother me that much

If you can't see it who cares?

Will those spots RUST?

I'd get it fixed. Top of trunk need not be painted. Just the underneath.

It's sloppy work and that kind of stuff really chaps my arse!!

I have minor "goobers" on the pointed front leading edges of the hood on both sides - they are extremely common paint defects on the S550.
They were pointed out upon pickup and was told they could be removed by their bodyshop with a razor. Really? And then touchup paint I guess.
I declined this service and have left well enough alone.

Try taking the car to a bodyshop you trust and see what they say.
A high-end place can perform some amazing work.
If the repair/refinish seems more complicated/expensive than it's worth, just live with it.
At least it's something you can't see from the outside.
Good Luck!

This was fixed by Ford. Not perfect but looks much better and is no longer an eye sore when opening the trunk.

I know I’m late to the party, but glad to learn this was taken care of for you, Commbubba19! If you feel uneasy about the repairs, be sure to address them with your dealer. Let me know if you do.

I find it troubling they let cars like this out to be sold. Ive had some cheap (priced) cars and have not seen any of the stuff that plagues these 30-40k cars.

I would personally get it fixed while you are still under warranty.
