Got quoted at two of my local shops at 300/400 + 100$ alignment for the spring install? this seems a bit high any shop suggestions? Located near Modesto California. note this is not counting the springs themselves and Is it worth trying a self install I have a car lift available to me but im not too mechanically inclined

You'll have to get the alignment anyway, and rent or buy spring compressors. Depending on what tools you have on hand it may or may not be worth your time to have it done. If it's something your interested in doing then go for it.

I don't think the lift is necessary but if it's a first time job and you don't have some mechanical experience I'd suggest an experienced friend on hand to at least help out with the spring compressors on the front. The rear swap is a cake job.
