Has less to do with not being a Shelby and everything to do with the fact that it's aftermarket and not engineered as a package. I've built a few cars and there's always some compromise vs an OEM engineered solution.
True, there are less issues and problems to worry about with an OEM package.

I understand your frustration, however my vent was directed to the OP who came up with the bizzar position that nobody should have to pick up the phone and shop around to find a good deal. This was the guy a while back who disrespected people who serve and have served (in a post that was deleted by the mods).

Adam Smith wrote in the wealth of nations about a free market economy where value is perceived by the demand and supply. This "invisible hand" that he wrote of influences our economy and price you pay for that GT500. It's simple, if it's a great car, people are going to want it and will pay.

I'm not some punk ass kid asking mommy and daddy to buy me a GT500. I make my own money and I'm not going to have some socialist tell me how to spend it.
3 Things,

1) I am the OP of this thread but I have never ever put down or disrespected people who serve and have served or will serve. I have much respect for the Men & Woman in the Military, God Bless them and this Country. You must have me confused with someone else. Plus I have never owned a Nissan or ever plan to.

2) I have no problem picking up the phone, making calls and doing the work. I did that the last time for a GT350 but I (My Story, not anybody else's) had no luck. Call it bad Luck or bad timing, it just didn't work out. I had called many different dealers in many different States (Like I did for MY12 Boss) and I was willing to fly out and drive back. No, I don't need it to be easy but maybe, just maybe, a little easier. Good Luck to everybody!

3) My comment of kids asking their parents was not directed to anyone. It was about what I have witness living in SoCal, We all make our own money and I am definitely not a socialist.

I'm not that excited for it because my car already has more power than the GT500 will.

I know that will add more fire to this thread because it's still not a shelby, etc, etc. :headbonk:
I'm in the same mindset, I already have that power on tap. I am more interested in what parts I will be able to steal from the new GT500 to add to mine :D

I'm curious if the people angry at the ADM's are ok with manufacturers like Porsche that run substantially higher profit margins, which is effectively an "additional manufacturer markup" that gets rolled into the MSRP and therefore goes unknown to people who don't pay attention to the varying profit margins of manufacturers. I have a feeling part of this outrage against ADM's is simply because it stands out to people rather than being wrapped up in the numbers. People are funny that way with numbers. If something is part of the main cost then they say "it costs what it costs," but if it's labeled as a separate cost then they cry outrageous.

In my opinion the entry price (MSRP) for a GT350/GT350R is very fair based on the performance value per dollar and that many of the German and Italian manufacturers just build a much bigger margin into the pricing (MSRP) for their HP cars than does both Ford or Chevrolet.

That being the case many Mustang enthusiasts many of which are members of this forum who recognize the incredible performance we get from Ford from these GT350/R's after which time supply and demand comes into play with Ford dealerships unfortunately then taking advantage of the situation by adding on ADM's.

I would suggest that even with a reasonable ADM especially for the R models we still have incredible bang for the buck compared to similar high performance vehicles presently being built by the likes of BMW and Porsche.

I did well, I got ahead of it. Pick up the phone and try to get an agreed upon price that you can live with instead of not trying and complaining about it. Just sayin'

Current GT350's are running less than MSRP with R's at about 5K.

I don't like artificial drama. take care
So are you special because you own 2 R's and paid too much twice? That's if you really own two.

Yep, that’s what they have to pay, each year to be in the Shelby program, or to get GT350 allocations. I don’t think that they needed to do that with raptors or RS’s, but could be wrong. I’m sure they will need to pay the 1000 again for the the GT500.

Just a rant... Ford stock right now is in the crapper. I’ve lost a shit load in the last 2 weeks. Should have pulled it out, went to the casino and put it all on red.

You would think they would want the Fn money themselves rather than letting the dealers mark them up.
LOL, you should own GE stock like I have for the past 25 years as a loyal employee...

Family hauler, for now
PERSONALLY I am hoping for a mild and wild version (like a GT500 'straight line' car like the ZL1, and a PP2 type version (like 1LE). Mostly because Im looking forward to seeing a non giant-fixed wing version of the new GT500. The GT350R's wing is barely passing in my opinion (just based on aesthetics - I know the R wing puts down more downforce than a GT3).

On a side note, the giant rear fixed wing phase is very contemporary for some reason. Personally I prefer the ducktail look, atleast on a Mustang. The GT350 track pack car has a nice rear 'wing' and so do the 03/04 Cobras and newer GT500's

In 2003 when they came out with the Cobra and the Mach1, I was interested in both. Unfortunately they were getting pretty good market adjustments so I passed on them. The following year I was able to get a 2004 Mach1 substantially below sticker. The next year after that I snagged an 04 Cobra convertible that was left over and I got it below invoice. I got them a little late compared to the folks willing to pay the markups but I didn't care.

Same with my GT350. When they were introduced I wanted one but the adm's were higher than my cheap bone would allow. The desire got even stronger when I went with a buddy to Road America and he got to take one for a test drive. I was on the sideline listening to them all roaring by in waves and I had goosebumps from the sound. It still wasn't enough to get my cheap bone to relent. I held out till I found one at sticker. And it wasn't my first color choice, but I'm happy. Beggars can't be choosy. :D

I agree with the concept of"additional manufacturer markup" But those manufacturers see their cars as higher valued and do use higher grade materiel and I'm ok with that. The difference is the ADM is not going back to the manufacturer its simply the Dealer asking for more money because they can.

Profit margin is after the cost of manufacturing has already been taken into account, so things like higher grade materials won't affect it. The profit margin is simply how much money the manufacturer wants to make on the car 'after' the cost of producing it has been accounted for.
