Question you bullitt vets can answer for me, when the ‘01 and ‘08/09 came out were the performance parts on them already offered by ford?

If this one gets some more power I’m assuming the parts will be offered at a later time as stand alone.

The ‘08 did have some internal goodness they made it rev a bit better and eventually became the basis for the ‘10 GT was it??
The 01 Bullitt had an aluminum intake and freer flow exhaust--I think the intake was offered through FP but would only work on the 1999 and up PI heads. I remember when the wheels were off the shocks and struts had Tokico stickers with Ford part numbers.

The premium is offered in either black, tan, or showstopper red, with the recaros only being offered in black or red leather
Premium is Red, Blue and Black.
Yea, if the premium was offered in tan, I would be one happy dude. :amen:

Though, I thought that the blue was really black, with blue accents like stitching and vent holes. Kind of like last year's yellow jacket.

The blue is, yes. Not sure why.

IIRC it actually isn't offered in blue... it's titled as blue on ford's build and price, but it's really just black with blue contrast stitching (Like Ebony is black with Ebony contrast stitching)

IIRC there was a track package that had the stuff you’re talking about, but also a brembo package that just added the brakes and the track pack wheels, no other parts from the track package carried over.
Incorrect. My car had the brakes, wheels, tires, suspension, shifter, axle, sway bars, etc. It was the 55D option. See below. Better to check before assuming. I not only owned the car, I removed virtually all the Brembo equipment except the brakes. I know for a fact the parts were different. I photographed them and sold them on EBAY.

Yep, on the premium. Go check out ford's build and price
Ah I see it's the 401a that was not letting me select it. My mistake.

Yeah, gotta have the 401A to have the color group. I only know because I was heavily debating getting a Ruby/tan car rather than the Kona/red car that I ended up ordering

The big dealerbreaker for me was that I couldn't get the tan interior with Recaros

So the 55R was to the BOSS what the PP2 is to the Shelby. CLose enough performance that the price almost doesn't seem worth it unless you want the "celebrity" of the higher priced car.

I think that is an accurate comparison. When the Brembo package came out it reminded me almost exactly what Ford did with the Bullitt. Axle, shifter, suspension, wheels. But the Brembo was more serious, if you will, than the Bullitt with the better tires, brakes and suspension.

After looking at all the options for the '18 S550, I hope they allow buyers to not try and make the Bullitt a track car. I feel it was a muscle car near the peak of the muscle car era. A little better suspension/tires with a bit more HP and the Bullitt look would suffice for me.

So the 2001 bullitt came in 3 colors, the 2009 came in two colors. Any chance we see another color other than dark highland green on the 2018 bullitt? I personally think “true blue” that came on the 2001 bullitt would look great on an S550

That's so strange to me... I feel like that defeats the point of a "Bullitt"
