Does DIB look purple?

I really wanted Deep Impact Blue but now having 2nd thoughts after seeing it on an Escape and Fusion. It looks purple!!! At first I was trying to convince myself it wasn't the same color but I think it is. Any thoughts?

Are you sure those cars were in fact DIB and not their own version of a metallic blue? Have you seen a Mustang in DIB lately? I don't see any purple in it at all.

I was really hoping they had their own version of blue but checked ford.com and also called DIB. I need to see a DIB mustang in person and in natural outdoor light. This pic in DIB thread looks purple to me.

It can look purple under different lighting.

Given the right lighting even red can look purple!

True but on cloudy days DIB looks purplish.

I have a 2014 DIB Shelby GT500 and it's dark blue. Lighting can make it look purple though.

DIB is a beautiful color in any light, that I think we can all agree on. Not my cup of tea, but I respect anyone who chooses it for their car.

Yes, it has purplish tendencies.

Indeed it does, but that really is the tendency of many dark blues. It does not bother me like it seems to bother others. This will again be at the top of my list.

I wouldn't mind the purple if it only looked that way occasionally but on overcast days, which we get a lot, it bothers me it looks purple all day! I have to do more investigation of looking at the color on dealer lots etc but may go with Magnetic as I love the dark greys also.

My DIB mustang looks like an ink color depending on the lighting. I love it it really looks angry depending on the lighting.

This picture (with the purpleish look) actually makes me want DIB.
