Thinking on either cat back or just axle back,is there a huge sound diffrence or power gain between the two? Do you have to cut the mufflers off or are they clamped on? Thx!

Cutting is required for axle backs and then clamped up to the cut pipe. You'll get zero power from catbacks or axle backs. Buy Corsa ;)

But no seriously, Corsa and Borla are both the jam when it comes to Mustangs.

Im looking for something mid sound, stock is to quiet, but i dont wanna piss off the neibors too with loud exhaust? No power gains for exhaust? What? Guess im used to old fox body with flowmasters and getting a few hp. I heard mbrp is ok and economical? I hate to sound cheap

MBRP is fine as long as you go stainless and not aluminized. Their street series is not bad, drones a TINY TINY bit. If you're looking for mild, I'd go Borla/FRPP Touring.

The only way you're getting power from exhaust on these modern cars is through headers. The 2.5" is actually plenty enough to support around 750+ horsepower. Even the old S197's with 2.75" and longer tubing (because of the over axle pipes) could support 800 easy.

Well, you'll lose some weight if you do the change, so technically your power to weight ratio goes up.

The black pipes might be good with my black accent package?

I have the MBRP street on my black car + black accent package. very happy with the sound and looks. the price is right too - got mine for $600ish shipped.

It does have a tiny bit of drone, nothing which i can't deal with though. Have taken it on several long trips and haven't gotten tired of the noise

I really dig my SLP axle back. Not too loud at all. If you just plan on doing an axle back while leaving the stock resonator in place, nothing will probably be too loud. I've got resonator delete x-pipe with my SLP, and still don't think it's too loud.

Check out American Muscle's website, they've got sound clips for a lot of the different exhausts.

I picked up a resonator delete H pipe, from CJ Pony Parts I think. Cheap and easy way to get a better sounding exhaust. Later I cut and clamped on the Ford Performance Borla Touring axle backs for a bump up, and I love the sound now. That's a cheap and easy way to get into exhaust mods.

With most modern NA cars the exhaust and induction systems really are not a restriction (especially without a new ECU calibration to take advantage of the hardware changes).

I personally love my Solo Performance Mach XV cat back. It has a deep aggressive sound at low load/rpm, but screams at high load/RPM. The black 4" tips look great as well.

Wow, God is into exhausts and car forums, . . .who knew? Rasn1320, I have the MBRP stainless street catback and like it. The Corsa's also sound nice. You mentioned about where to get good prices? The vendors/sponsors on this forum usually always offer a forum discount, so I'm quite sure they'll be willing to help you with what you want. If you do some moddin', I'm not far from you to maybe lend a second set of hands.
