2018 GT350's stop production in June.

If the 500's not ready, there will be a gap. No worries.

Sorry I initially missed this post, can someone bring me up to speed why this info seems valid and not just some rumor being spread on the internet?

I'll admit that as a current R owner, I wouldn't mind if they stopped production of the car. :)

sigh ... figures that when iā€™m finally blessed enough to enter the speciality mustang game i get the car on par with the 500ā€™s that were languishing on the lots 8 yrs after their debut. shouldā€™ve just bit the bullet and got that boss 302 back in 2011 and be done with it.

talk about sloppy ... porsche already has left them all with a 991.2 new gt3 rs, mid engine vette on the horizon and the ā€˜newā€™ gt500 looks to be just another demon hp chaser...

all because a bunch of old blue stock holders are ā€˜worriedā€™ about fordā€™s electrification and self driving plans ... who cares ? the p car guys lining up for the new rs donā€™t seem to care...
Call me crazy but I'm very much pro Electric awd mustang with a 4 liter turbo. (THink cayman 4 cylinder + electric power)

Your crazy! First the Mustang would habe to loose a lot of weight. And I mean 700+ lbs. Good luck with that.

Again, the 2019 My 350 is a band aid. Unless the best kept 500 secret is about to be sprung.

Yeah - a lot of things seem to point in that direction. Just holding out hope.

I think lots of people think you can just interchange a GT and 350 front bumper and hood.

Yes, from the windshield forward the front fenders, hood and bumper assembly are all unique to the GT350/R's and are not interchangeable with a Mustang GT.

I admit I'm not knowledgeable on this subject, but the engineer in me would think the under-structure of both the GT and 350 would be the same. That if you stripped off the fenders, hood, radiator support, and other bolt ons, they could be swapped? I wonder if this has been tried?

Based on the info we currently have at hand, what is the level of confidence (high, med, low) that there will be a 2019 GT350 production run? If confidence is high, what is the best estimate as to when they will announce a 2019 GT350 production run?

Last year it was around March, wasn't it? Someone that works at a dealership showed us the ford letter asking if they wanted to pay into the program in order to get GT350's for that year. I'd expect about the same this next go round.

The body comprises most of that, and are obviously identical. The rad support is CFRP, and is alot closer than most people think. Build fixtures and the assembly process want to be a similar as possible.

I think you could get away with fenders & fender brackets, hood, fascia components.

Most of the ~ 60mm of drop is the hood, and leading fascia profile changes.

Most of the difference in the fenders is the cowl sweep. I'll upload some pictures later of GT350 fenders on my GT.
