Any information on the construction of the pistons and rods? Are they still the same basic hyper/powder metal construction?

And it's interesting to see the extensive redesign of the coolant passages in the block. Looks almost identical to the LS architecture and completely different than any other recent modular block.
Trying to fix #8... Anyone got a layover comparison of the coolant passages?

I'm a victim of #8 failure @ 2,000 mikes

We have the #8 cooling head fix coming shortly, similar to our 11-17 kit.

rear cylinders always tend to run warmer, they are at the back of the engine, have less airflow around them and are furthest from the radiator. Promoting coolant flow around them usually eliminates hotspots.

So this is still a problem......?
It's been an issue in some form even since the 4.6's. Maybe older than that. Surprised they haven't found some form of a fix.

One would hope the cooling passage redesign would help alleviate the issue. At least help fix it in stock cars.

I understand it just came out but from what we know so far, will it be possible to add direct injection to the second gen Coyote? I don't imagine it being very easy.

Heads, pistons, fuel delivery stuff, and ECU.

The Pistons won't fit. The bore is larger on the Gen 3 coyote. also would need the cam that drives the high pressure fuel pump if not all four cams. Probably a lot more to it as well. as for the cooling the plasma cylinder bores probably cool better since aluminum transfers heat better than steel. if the GT500 and GT350 are not having problems then the 2018 GT probably won't either

Any updates ?
Plans to "build" and 18 block and is the block stronger than the Gen 2 coyote ?
