First DCT GT500 Mustang Caught on Video? Plus Hood Vents Up Close

Could this be the first audio/video of a DCT transmission 2019-20 GT500 Mustang?

This prototype was spied sporting a manual 6-speed shifter, but we believe it could be a placeholder/disguise so as to not draw attention to the vehicle or have to tool up a different shifter in order to conceal the DCT.

Based on how fast and smooth the shifts appear*to sound in this video, we think it's unlikely to be the 6-speed Tremec 3160 manual transmission, although your ears may disagree. Until we receive true confirmation we'll call this one a maybe and leave this open for debate.

One thing we*can be sure of, the next GT500 will have some massive hood vents and it wears it proudly in these latest spy photos. :hail:

Those brakes are very impressive looking. Wonder if this will be the actual wheels or at least design?
Those side splitters? Right behind the front tires are interesting to.

I was thinking the same thing! I wonder if that is going to make it into production.
They had a patent for it, as well I put up some preliminary weight savings numbers based on it. I think it’ll be available as an option, standard on the R.

Let’s see.

The delay has one benefit in that I’ll have a ton of savings to throw at it when it finally hits dealers :headbonk:

Curious about the dual intercoolers in the lower fenders. Not sure how that would work with a PDB?

On the front passenger fender just to the left of the black tag there is a strange piece of camo wrap that looks like it was put there after the fact...

The wheels are nearly the same as the GT350 test car back in 2014.

Those are probably heat exchangers for the blower. The intercooler sits just below the blower and coolant circulates through it just like the cooling circuit of the engine.

Man those hoods vents are the real deal. You can see from the profile just how much the come up.

Also from that video, the car shifted to what...4th gear at very low RPM's and it was smooth. Real smooth. Thinking the GT500 is going to be a hell of a vehicle when it hit.
