Apparently last month Ford released their new F6 navigation SD card for Sync2 systems in Europe.

Has anyone tried it yet? I've already seen illegal copies pop up in eBay so beware of what you might buy.

Nice to know that we are not abandoned!

Illegal copies? I thought those cards can't be copied..

Edit: ok, found all the info, thank you :)

You'd say that one of these must be a fake...

Sure, but the point is: will it work the same? I would say YES...
I must correct myself because even these cards could be copied!

However, good info! Finally they really updated the cartography and POIs inside this card!
Last year I compared F5 and F4 cards, and cartography data were the same, dated 2013; they only updated POIs data - that was not bad, however you paid for a new 'map' and you got the same map, with the same outdated roads.

This time all data (cartography and POIs) are updated to 2016* so this is finally a must have for our navigators.

I compared both these two pics with my (100% original, came from dealer) F5 card. The shape of the stricker corners is different in all 3, but judging from the print layout, the distances between the various text parts, the thickness of the READ ONLY words and the misalligned position of the red arrow my guess would be that the one on the left is a knock off.

I bought mine from eBay about 6 weeks ago.

Probably fake, but I dont care. It works.

SatNav upgrades should be for free anyway. After selling my F5 card it cost me €30 to upgrade.

Got the F6 map. I still have to test if the new roads around me are finally there.
Unfortunately, even if all files in the card have 2016 dates, the version.txt still reports 2013 so I'm not sure if cartography is really updated.
Shame that ford sells this for around 150-200 eur without even telling what's upgraded.

Hopefully ebay and the internet are helping us with this :)

If Ford is going to screw us over I wish we could go to that "other" bay...

But yea, this has been a secondary income for car manufacturers for years now... Beemers are even more expensive... (or used to be back in the cd/dvd days atleast)

Just wondering if it's worth getting this update card? With all those new speed-cameras and section control traps here in Belgium plus new roads etc. my current card from 15 is pretty much out of date, just not sure if all of it is included.

Perhaps it's time to put out a new update, i.e. an F7 card?

High time. F7 is already out for Sync3. But I doubt us Sync2 users will ever get it. Ford really sucks in this department.

I feared for this during my order back in 2015, in my old BMW I never had to worry about electronics and software updates... now it's all over the place... even my wiring loom flips out from the heat ATM! So yes, most likely Sync 2 will never receive any updates again... software or cards...

Luckily there is Waze guys. I never use the GPS of any of my cars ... even the nice looking 3D. Just when you buy the car to see how it looks, then ... Waze.

Never used Waze in my life :D
Integrated gps could not be the best looking\feature filled system, but it's just right and do the job very well. It looks better since it's integrated in the dash - no support, no power cable - and it lowers the music's volume when speaking.
Having bluetooth handsfree speakerphone feature, I would hate to get out the phone from my pocket to place in the support and plug the power cable every time I need it.

This is why I was hoping that google made android auto wireless (and they finally did!)
