I did some calculations to figure out speeds with the Tremec tranny. I assume they will use the model with a 3.35 first gear and will be using 3.55 gears in the differential. 3.73s aren't needed. Also, figured an 85" rolling tire circumference (305/35R19 loaded). With 8,200 rpm redline. Numbers are starting rpm if shifted into at redline from previous gear and top speed in gear. 1st gear 55mph, 2nd gear starts at 4870 rpm to 93 mph, 3rd starts at 5480 to 139mph, 4th starts at 6165 to 185mph. Double overdrive model. 1850rpm at 70mph. Good fuel economy and sub 4 second 0-60.

Numbers with 8250rpm redline and 3.73 gears. 1st 53mph, 2nd 4900rpm to 89 mph, 3rd 5514rpm to 134mph, 4th 6203rpm to 178mph. 1800 rpm at 65mph in 6th gear.

3.73s, 8250rpm. 1st 55mph, 2nd 5660rpm to 80mph, 3rd 5956 to 110mph, 4th 6354 to 143mph, 5th 6653 to 178mph. 1897rpm at 65mph. 3.55s would work best with these ratios. Either way this thing will be sweet. I just hope the clutch engineering is better than the Boss 302. I had issues at high rpm with clutch hang-out.

Which ratio set was this? Option C on my list?

With that gearing this thing is going to be an animal. Being able to rev over 8000 will take some getting used to. When I first got my Boss it just seemed so strange to rev it to 7500...but it pulled all the way to the rev limiter...such a sweet engine. I can just imagine what the voodoo motor will be like. I just hope they put side exhaust outlets on it. I never listened to the radio in the Boss...I always had the window cracked (even in the winter) so I could hear the exhaust. And when I traded it on the Shelby I really missed having that sound right at my ear.

You will be able to go from 6th gear to 3rd on the highway at 65mph (rpm will rise to 4800) and will probably be right at peak torque (just speculating) and thing will pull like an animal. I can't wait to test drive one...it's going to be a long year

That last set of numbers seems much more reasonable.

143 @ the top of 4th would cover most straights I imagine, so most track driving would be 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

1897 RPM @ 65 would also be:
2335 RPM @ 80
1751 RPM @ 60

Probably not going to get great HWY mileage @ those RPMs, but hopefully not horrible either.

Why would you assume first gear will be 3.35?
My T56 magnum is the close ratio version specifically designed for road racing (like the GT350) and has a 2.66 first. It would make a lot more sense to put a 2.66 or 2.97 (or similar) first gear ratio in this box since it is specifically designed for road racing.
You don't want to do burnouts with the car on a road course, you just want to get traction and get moving.
