Found the above recall notification in my account (owner.ford.com). Called the dealership to check and was told that Ford did not send the replacement parts yet and it is planned for 1st quarter of 2017.

Yep, they know it is a problem, but have no fix for it yet.

I guess they have a fix for it but don't have enough parts for all cars yet. I just got a recall notice from Ford yesterday saying if you're having problems right now, "contact your dealer and request a service appointment for diagnosis and repair relating to Safety Recall 16S30. Provide the dealer with the VIN of your vehicle". If you're not having problems right now, wait and they will send a letter when the parts are available. They are expecting parts to be available in the second quarter of 2017.

Toyota no better...

A few years ago my Toyota got recalled for a seat rail problem. I was one of the first to contact my dealer. I was told that Toyota hadn't even started to build replacement parts. Six months later, still no parts. Finally got it fixed 9 months after the recall notice.

I got my notice in snail mail today

But what is the actual problem (to look for in the future)? Has anyone on the forum actually experienced a problem with their door latch?
