Break In Period Roush Phase 2?

I just picked up my new 17 with Roush Phase 2 and I got 115 miles on it so far. My question is what is the break in period? Any special requirements? I only got on it briefly for a 3rd gear pull and “Oh my goodness” does it pull.

Try...it will be difficult but try to follow the break-in recommendation in the owners manual (p.185)...even if you get on it occasionally, it won’t kill the engine. Welcome to Roush.

if your a manual car do atleast 300 miles of stop and go just to break the clutch in imo

On.my Roush I drove it easy to hard the 1st 1000 miles and now it has 23k and no leaks or oil burning seated in perfect

The only way I've ever broken in a new engine is to drive it like ya stole it...

If you are in doubt though, follow the manual...

I have a 17 stage 3 (phase 1). I followed the break in per the Roush manual as closely as I could.....I'm over 13k on it now with 0 issues. I seem to remember doing a full small pulls during break in, but was pretty well behaved. Wasn't easy! Roush is awesome - congrats!

Thanks all for the advice, Just turned 300 miles and love it. Did a short full throttle pull in 3rd and whoa!

A blown s550 is no joke.... pulls like a freight train and or spins like hell...haha either way your grinning!!!
