If it gets bad again, I'll move the Mustang to higher ground. That was a close call. On the positive side, the convertible top didn't leak.

Our underground parking flooded last night but fortunately nobody parked down there. But because of that the shut the water off. Good thing I only drink beer.

The exit from our parking garage. Those are new 700k plus townhomes down there.

The S550 was safe and the water at least in my area of the Med Center is receding right now.

We lost power and no water so now they are asking for a voluntary evacuation of the property. So if the water allows road access to Galveston I'll be evacuating to a house I have down there. The irony of evacuating a high rise to go to a house on the coast because of a hurricane is not lost on me.

That does't look promising, unfortunately. Looking at google maps and Houston Transtar, you'll have to put together a creative route to get to Galveston. Good luck, man.

One of my neighbors made it home by this route. Maybe you can make it to Galveston by 146.

I made it home from downtown by driving Franklin, navigation, Harrisburg, 610, Sh225 to SH 146. For those looking for a route.

It's not going to be that bad. I'm staying due to work down here at Ellington Field. It's raining on and off so far and that's it, no damage to anything and no outrageous winds and tornados like the news keeps saying.
So how is it now, everything still good?

The rain is pretty much over now. Now we have to wait for the water to drain everywhere.

Damm I hate these storms. Pretty much hunkered down in my home already.
We have a metal roof and roll down shutters so hopefully we will be safe from this monster storm. Parked my Mustang at a multilevel garage in the middle 3rd floor.
Hopefully she will be safe. If I get some paint damage from flying debris - can we say stripes? :D

Seriously - hope we all manage to get out of this thing alive.
Material things can be replaced, all lives matter. Especially. Ponies. ;)

Good luck mate, generally the parking garage's protect really well. I had to stow my GTO in one for Ike in 2005.

Irma is a monster but she's moving 16 knots which is pretty fast so she should blow through relatively quick. I was raised in South FLA and I'll take a strong fast moving storm over a weak slow storm any day.

Good luck. You're better locked down than stranded on the highway.

Keep us posted.

I evacuated to Goliad,Tx. A ranch owner there put me up after a Hurricane party at the Dawghouse, it was off the chain! Had to re-route the next day back to Port Lavaca,Tx. Cottage isn't damaged but, carport blew away. Pony is fine.
