We evacuated to Austin and Dallas yesterday, though my brother had to stay behind because he's a paramedic. I'm a bit afraid we're going to return to a house with no roof, though.

It's not going to be that bad. I'm staying due to work down here at Ellington Field. It's raining on and off so far and that's it, no damage to anything and no outrageous winds and tornados like the news keeps saying.

My friend that stayed behind said my house was probably the only one on the block with no apparent damage, even our fence that was halfway fallen over on its own was still standing. There are some reports of house looting, though.

I can see the looting, it's still not that bad down here, just a lot of rain.

Central Houston is pretty good right now. We get some heavy rain cells push through but not too bad.

I just moved into a new condo Thursday by the med-center. It's an old refurbished hospital from the 1930's and is built like a fortress. I've had to look outside to see how bad the weather is since it's so quiet in here. Allegedly we are on the medical grid so word is the power is the last to go out here.

Our DA promised to be as tough as possible on it, and the only death in Corpus was a looter being shot by a homeowner. As much as I want to go to Rockport to help once we get back and things have settled, I'm hesitant to leave my house.

Tornadoes seem to be our worst concern in Houston. I have over 7” of rain so far but it’s the next 7” that are going to cause problems.

Looting is not a big problem in Houston, we don’t tolerate that kind of behavior. And the local authorities don’t prosecute self-defense or property defense cases very much

I had 14" of rain overnight. 21" total since Friday. Somehow, it didn't get in my house. Yet. Houston is underwater today.
