From that Dyode Dynamics video I would take it that the parts that someone who installs their product has left over afterwards are just what we in Europe need to get regular DRL to work.

When I spoke to TheLightingFirm, they mentioned having EU headlamps and are able to fit them with the LED boards. $950 for a set of lamps + postage.

So I doubt the boards are already in them...

Still puzzled why these are not allowed in the UK. One of the reasons is that they are visible from the side but so are the ones on the new Mondeo.

Would be nice of someone at Ford to specify why these various changes have occurred rather than all of us guessing.
As has been mentioned elsewhere on this site, it was easier for Ford to make a blanket EU-spec car & get approval for that, than tailor a car for each individual country and jump through all the hoops to get it approved, so although we don't get certain things on our UK cars, it's not because the UK don't allow them but some other country.

Has anybody looked at enabling either of these yet for UK cars?

There is a guy called Caniggia from Poland on the Europe section of the forum that modified the lights. Surely he should be able to do the same for RHD cars.

Got to take the lights apart to fit LED's
I've just bought a damaged LHD light, to see how hard it is

Need to get some RHD lights for him though unless you want your car off the road for a month or two. :tsk:

Do we know for sure that there is an actual RHD unit as opposed to ours being a LHD unit that's missing the gills & different connections i.e. do we just need to realign the lights in a LHD unit?
Guess we need to try get part number off a RHD light to see.
The W*##ers at the lightning firm said they could convert them, took my money then went out of business.
