From a legal standpoint, so we don't get busted by the boys in blue, surely when the brake pedal is pressed, the cars must continue to show brake lights totally working on both sides of the vehicle, plus centre light?

So when break pedal is pressed, the sequence must be 1 (red on firm) and then 2 on, 2+3 on, 2+3 off.. 2 on, 2+3 on etc etc...?

The full sequential when brake pedal used here:

Is not fully road legal here in Aus (as it works in the US).

I would think at least 1 globe must be permanently fixed red to be road legal (strictly speaking).

Currently we are setting up 2 modes, ditching the old Mode A and Mode B:

S(tock) Mode: Exactly the same as your factory car
P(rogressive) Mode:

  1. Indicator - Sequential 1, 12 , 123, 0, 1, ... Amber blinkers
  2. Brake - 123 triple intense Red brakes
  3. Indicator while braking (or vice versa) - Sequential 1, 12 , 123, 0, 1, 12 ... Amber blinkers while brake LEDs would be switched off progressively 123, 23, 3, 0, 123, 23, ... would come back on during the 'off' period of the indicator.

The RED brake lights are pretty much only completely off on the side of indicating for about 0.13 second if both indicator and brake is on. Therefore the previous Indicator priority (A mode) and Brake priority (B mode) is not necessary any more. And still provide a crisp finish instead of having brake on constantly.
Been thinking about this, I think what people will want to customise are these modes:

Stock:

As Factory

Stock plus triple red brakes:

Triple red brakes, stock function when indicating at all times

Triple red brakes + sequential indicating (brake priority):

Triple red brake
1, 12, 123, 0, 1,12,123,0 etc sequential indicating
On braking and indicating, revert to stock indicator behavior on indicator side, triple red on other side

Triple red brakes + sequential indicating (indicator priority):

Triple red brake
1, 12, 123, 0, 1,12,123,0 etc sequential indicating
On braking and indicating, indicating side continues sequential behavior, other side triple red.

This gives the customer good control over how they want the lights used. I'm not sure the people in the market for this mod will want the brake light coming back on when in full sequential mode to attempt to satisfy ADR's (which I dont think it will.) If people have the above modes, they can choose a road legal mode when on road, or take the risk otherwise.

Regardless as long as the above modes are included it is a moot point.

What do others think?

Currently the default sequential mode, where blinker and brake can co-exist seems to be the most popular and logical way. We are currently running some minor tweaks here and there in the software.

Here is video on comparing both 2018 and 2015+ tail lights while running EPM sequencers. (note the factory 2018 does no different than 2015 tail lights).

The 3A3R LED kits videos hopefully will be out soon.

Hi Ray, any news/updates on the sequence boards? Thx
We are planning a soft launch event in Lorbek luxury car in Melbourne Australia next week.

And after talking to many customers, we have now settled with 7 Modes:

  • Mode 1: Cursor Indicator + Triple Red Brake
  • Mode 2: Sequential Indicator + Gradual Triple Red Brake
  • Mode 3: Cursor Indicator + Gradual Triple Red Brake
  • Mode 4: Triple Amber Brake + Triple Red Brake (Turn priority)
  • Mode 5: USDM Mode (All RED, Turn priority)
  • Mode 6: Sequential Indicator + Triple Red Brake (Default Mode)
  • Mode 7: AUS/EU Factory Mode

This shall hopefully meet everyone's need!!

I will make a few proper videos on the installation, detailed review on each modes etc. But here are some quick low quality sneak peek:

Mode 1: Cursor Indicator + Triple Red Brake
<-- Video corrected

Mode 4: Triple Amber Brake + Triple Red Brake (Turn priority)
[ame]

Mode 5: USDM Mode (All RED, Turn priority)
[ame]

Mode 6: Sequential Indicator + Triple Red Brake (Default Mode)
[ame]

The plan is then we will be working with distributors and partner mod shops in Australia and around the world in about 4 weeks from that.

Thanks

Saw a Magnetic coupe with a modified sequence drive past me and changed across a few lanes on the freeway.
Some sort of pattern happening - maybe US flasher style.
All very confusing - no amber - and I KNOW what he's trying to achieve on the rear end.
Average Joe most likely wouldn't know and be totally confused by the signalling on that Stang.
There is a reason we have uniformity in lights. It's less confusing.
Wouldn't wanna be rear ended or sideswiped by someone who twigged the vehicle failed to comply with ADRs and was technically unroadworthy.

Easier, only needed to open the light housing; The boards are plug and play with the factory modules inside; no need to take of any bumpers etc. 3 bolts at the back of the tail light takes 5 mins to remove.

We have done a quite successful demo in Lorbek Luxury car meet last Sunday. And will be making some proper review and install videos this week. Here is a teaser video
