Insurance for the mustang

Shannons's quoted me $1200p/a - GT Fastback 35yr old male - seems about right....

just got a quote from just car, $835p/a GT fastback 31 years old male with no previous history of bad stuff, but heres the kicker, i gave the options of supercharger, tune, exhaust, wheels, and suspension mods. cheaper than my built 2005 SSZ ute lol which is 1070p/a. i've been with just car for about 8 years now.

WOW, that's good. How I don't understand

A mate of mine bought/moved in to a house... he got a car insurance quote; he did another quote with the address of next door, his car insurance quote dropped by a few hundred dollars with next door's address.

Somehow that address (probably the previous tenants) had got a black mark against it. He complained saying that he was a new resident, but they wouldn't change it for him. I think he ended up going to a different insurer.

Sometimes there's weird sh*t like that - different house (?!@?#), street, suburb, garaged vs car port, someone accidentally ticked the wrong checkbox...

I phoned RACQ for a over the phone quote,
The Mustang is not listed on their system, there was confusion with the operator for the Mustang not being on the system, the operator was asking is it a private import, No it is being sold through Ford Australia's dealer network.
The operator called their "underwriters" to clarify,
Underwriters response was, since the car is so new, they would like to wait until the car is actually here in Australia and available for purchase & pick up.
RACQ then advised me to phone back for a quote closer to the day of delivery (so much for comparing quotes & shopping around), RACQ also took notes on the description of the vehicle (Transmission, body type, cylinders etc.).
I said that delivery is about a month away, how soon would you like me to call back???
Anyways, I advised I will call back a week before delivery, until then I advised them to get something sorted as there will be another 3000+ more Mustangs coming pretty soon.

Insurance quote I got from Shannon's was about the same as I,m paying now for my FG. :ford:
still looking at other companies to compare.
Insurance costs would be on a case by case basis tho.

So it looks like the big insurers are finally adding the stang to their websites.

Just did a quick comprehensive quote online with AAMI for a 2015 V8 GT Auto fully comprehensive valued at $64k and the quote came in at $735 with $1300 standard excess.

AAMI just quoted me 3200 if I list my dad on the policy and 3550 if I don't. Either way they can stick that up their :censored:

now there is a difference between quotes!
What age bracket was the $735 Quote?

Mine was more like $1200

So I guess that covers quite a bit! but that hydrogen fuel mod might have to wait for a few years !!

NRMA have quoted me $852 with an $800 excess (including a 20% loyalty discount & 60% NCB).

With Allianz I'm about $1600-1700 depending on finance... Auto and Manual doesn't make any real difference

With NRMA I'm just shy of $1300

The only quote I have had so far is Shannons.... $1060 with a $600 excess.....should be able to do better than that elsewhere...

I am 40 and live in WA. The quote for $736 also showed a $100 online discount and a listed my 42 year old wife as driver also.
