That is an exhaust leak. Header gasket most likely. At least it’s the easy side!

Drain the oil and inspect? Pretty easy to determine from there

That tick is not a bottom end knock. My vote is also exhaust leak.

Could be more going on, hard to tell.

How does the car run?

That will be the first step. The car needs an oil change anyway

Haven’t driven it since I discovered the problem.

Did you use factory header gaskets?
At the time of the header install, I was living in a condo, and had the headers installed. I guess I’ll find out if they used the American Racing gaskets

its a exhaust leak... stop telling him its a rod knock if any of you ever heard a rod knock..thats deff not the sound it makes .. ive had headers on 5 cars and thats the sound they make when they blow out ..

easy way to tell.. do a cold start with the car in the air and put your hand in there i willing to bet you feel air pushing out around the gasket

So this was bottom end knock ended up being spun bearings from OPG failure. Yup I shut the car down right at failure when I got the oil pressure warning. I tried replacing just the stock OPG and cleaning out the oil to see if the engine would live and as you can see on start up it was fine for about 10 seconds then it started to hammer.

I’ll post my thoughts, as well as explain my ownership experience, in another thread.

Both header gaskets are shot, in addition to 2 primary welds, one on each header.

If you voted for an exhaust leak, you get the gold star.
