My car is brand new with 19 inch 50 anniversary wheels powder coated black. My tires are Pirelli Zero 255/40/19 on all four corners with 1000 miles on them.

Im thinking about getting AMR 10 inch wide wheels so I can run 285/35/19 Mickey Thompson Street Comp tires on all four corners.

Will there be a significant performance gain over what I have now? I only want to do it if running wider tires make a huge difference. Is it worth spending the money? Or should I wait until my current tires need changed next year?

Thanks

you will gain a ton of grip going from 255 to 285 in addition to performance tires not all seasons like the 255 are

A compromise is to go wider tires for more grip, but quality All Season for convenience and lower TCO. No need to change out wheel sets twice a year.

You can check the UTQG rating. 200 is soft. 500 is year round. 3-400 somewhere in between.

AMRs look awesome, and the MT street comps are superior to P-zero

Good tires will completely change a car. Its like putting match ammo in a rifle.

I agree. It will make a difference and you will notice it. But a HUGE difference? This is a judgement call. And why AMR? Why not a set of lightweight forged wheels and Michelin.
