I know the A10 is all the rage, but has anyone heard any 1/4 times on a 6 speed 18 in stock trim?

I know there was a low 12 on DRs and E85 but I’m wondering what a hired shoe like my childhood Mustang hero Evan Smith can do with a third pedal? Or anyone for that matter...

Any forum members in the south willing to take one for the team and head to the track in their six speed? :ford:

I guess we are just going to have to wait until warm weather returns. Right now we are mostly just seeing tuners times. I am wondering myself as IMO the manual gives the real performance differences over 15-17 GT. I'm guessing there will be around a 3 tenths of a second difference on good runs.

Not sure if you're referring to me, but that'd be a definite no.

I'm just an old school Mustang guy who would rather lose a race in a stick car than win one in an automatic. That said, I have no plans on buying an A10 (though I know it would be faster) - I'm just trying to see what to expect from my future 6 speed PP2 GT when I inventively line up next to someone in a 10 speed GT at a light or at the track...

No way in hell a 6MT will hang with an A10 mod for mod.

Way more fun to drive, though. Plus the A10s sound weird with their crazy shifts.

Not sure why someone would think this is a troll thread, I'd never buy an automatic while a manual is available either.

12.2 by evan equals 13.0 by most. But we do have a few manual racers in the drag section that are doing great work and cutting killer sixties. Nice job fellas! I used to race a front wheel drive, stick car. It's not easy with a stick. But until you get to the heavily modded cars you can give an auto a solid run. Provided your willing to break stuff to win.

Kind of a moot point since most MT times have more to do with human response than tranny performance.

Hoping with better tires and suspension that means the PP2 will do a 12.0-.1
How good are msc2's as a drag tire? Serious question.

I doubt the Cup 2's would fare any better on a drag strip. The prep of the surface would play a far larger role than the type of street tire is on the car. Generally speaking street tires suck pretty bad at a drag strip unless the prep is amazing(like pulling your shoes off amazing).

I'd assume not drastic, I suspect the suspension tweaks may help more.

Agreed that driving stick is 99% human skill...but since it's not A6 vs. M6 comparison, I think most of us are more curious how much better having 10 gears of snowmobile like peak powerband performance fares over six gears, all other factors the same (especially with new for 2018 MT-82-D4, going back to a 1:1 fourth gear).
