My setup is 3 way components and Jl sub out back. I will not run the center and the rear deck speakers.

Here are the list of dsp.

Hertz H8DSP 8 channel

Audiocontrol dm-608 premium 6 input 8 output dsp matrix processor

Which one would be a better choice? I am leaning towards the Hertz

So I am guessing Hertz is not a good option? I can get it at $350 with the remote.

I don't know, no experience with them.I do run a HCP 1DK hertz amp for my subwoofer setup. This is my first go around with electronics from them, before that it was just speakers.

I've got the AudioControl DSP and it's probably overkill but man does this car sing. It's definitely worth considering and the price. Incredible customer service too.

I personally don't think that Hertz is a good candidate for what you want to do.

In the image I have highlighted two sections in yellow. Since you have 6 speakers up front, those two "rear" channels would be re-used for either the mids or the woofers... their cut filter should be band pass and not high pass. Because they are high pass you will not be able to apply a transition between either the mid or woofers and the next higher frequency speaker. In a more flexible DSP, you would be allowed to select both the type of crossover band and it's frequency range.

Damn I just found out I can't even use the dsp to run all my speakers plus my subwoofer. I need a 9 channel. Sheeeeet!

Ok let's start fresh here. I bought a 8 channel JL amp. I want to run my components up front, rear deck woofer speakers and 1 sunwoofer. I also have a separate amp for my sub.

Which dsp will work for my setup?

Hey thank you for your reply.

I just want to confirm my setup before I purchase it and please let me if it will work.

Components 3 way up front (focal)
Rear deck speakers (2 tang band 6.5" woofers)
JL subwoofer in the trunk ( 1 subwoofer)

Amps are:

JL XD500X1 ( subwoofer)
JL XD800/8v2 (for the rest of the speakers)

You are only going to use 4 channels for input. In the software ,you can tie any input to any output.I use only the front channels to drive all 6 front component speakers. The rear channels I have to the sub output. So yes,4 in up to 10 outs. You can download the Helix software and use it in demo mode to get a feel for it.There are also you tube video's showing how to set it up.Very easy once you see how it works.
I would dump the rear shelf speakers, not needed. The sub is really what takes up the slack back there.I tried it both ways and it was a wasted effort. Now granted I have 2 hertz 10's with 1200 watts, but the gain is turned wayyy down.Could I have used less power, maybe.I'm not into window rattles, just tight clean accurate bass.

Ok I am little confused. For inpute on my front components I only need 4 because the tweeters and mids are on a single channel and the woofer is a separate channel?
