Absolutely, look at how fast that new 10 speed auto is ripping through those gears in the new 18 GT! Now way you could keep up in a manual! Ran into that with my Porsche. It ran through first gear so fast you could not shift fast enough to keep it going. And it ate clutches-very expensive ones!!

That thing is quick man. Sounded supercharged, but did hear a screeching sound when he downshifted at 7000 RPM.

That thing is quick man. Sounded supercharged, but did hear a screeching sound when he downshifted at 7000 RPM.
Whipple Gen 3 on a 2018 GT. Brutal acceleration.

LOL, see the speedo rise from 70 to 80 LOL, it gave the arm massive whiplash.

thats KPH not MPH.
Didn't say it was, but the speed that the needle rises from 70 to 80 it looks like it will break the needle in half. Almost look like something got stuck in it and then it learched. haha. FAST even if KPH

Got ask yourself WTF is the GT500 gone be like!!!!! An Animal for sure!
Probably similar, maybe quicker shifts, hard to believe but I can see it happening. That whipple is a 2.9L? The 2.65 eaton is supposed to put out some magic with the new design and who knows what else ford has up their sleeve. I can see the new GT500 anywhere from 750 to 810 HP. Hopefully on the higher end, but 750 would still be a beast with the DCT as long as weight isn't too crazy.

I suspect it will have to be over 750, as FP/Roush will be like 700 with a package on the 5.0 alone. For the price difference people are going to want more than just 50 more than what they can bolt to a GT for 8-9K.

I'm more interested in wondering WHAT the base engine will be. A redesigned 5.2? I've seen those go over 1000WHP with a whipple and built engine already. So that is a Maybe. A new 5.4 or 5.8? Maybe we'll just get something like a 6.X pushing over 600 N/A. Maybe it will be a 5.0, but with a Turbo setup. Would really help that bottom end.

Nothing is final till it's made public. It's possible that was one of many test cars Ford has for engine options. Not saying it's wrong just saying it's possible decisions were changed since 5 months ago.

Most things do point to a SC 5.2 being an engine or option is something. I wouldn't be amazed if they do a refreshed 5.3 for the GT350 and them do a SC 5.2 for the GT500.

Honestly I'm surprised they have not tried to add a level above the 500 and say like a GT750 or something. Or add a handling kit and call it the King Of Road package.
