I have some flaps on order but I was wondering how well they work? Can someone tell me if they do a good job not allowing the rocks to fly on the back fender of the car or if I need to look into putting a clear wrap on there.

Love the tires but I hate the way they pick up every rock on the road.

Thanks!

Flaps on a PP2 car. Now I have seen everything. To the op - you already know the answer...

I just didn't know if I needed to order the clear bra material or not is all. Wasn't trying to be a smart ass or anything.

Why is this thread aimed at PP2? A mud flap is there to protect the fender which it will do regardless of tire width. I would find it hard to believe the tire would throw a curve ball (rock?) into the fender.

I have a couple on each side of the car in front of the rear wheels. It has 220 miles on it. So I ordered touch up paint and some splash/rock guards/ mud flaps.

^^That should be fine. You can re-evaluate the worth of those and go from there. I installed mud flaps at 100mi. and they appear to be doing the job.

It's just upsetting is all. I love the PP2 car but I don't want to be afraid to drive it. I'll post some pictures and hopefully I don't get any more chips after i install them. They are supposed to be here tomorrow.

Another solution is just swapping out the SC2's for something a little more daily driver friendly, and save the SC2's for the track or sell them. Same size and I haven't heard a single rock thrown yet. Though they were a little more expensive than mud flaps.

I plan on doing both: new tires and "mud flaps" when I get my 2019 PP2.

In Japan they're called Fraps.

At Starbucks they're called Diversity Fraps.

This is the front of the passenger side rear fender. Damn near brings a tear to my eye. But I'll get it fixed and the guards on it to help it out.
