SSM 45189 - 2015 Mustang Headlamp Switch Bezel Buzz Or Tick Noise Built On Or Before 4/30/2015

Some 2015 Mustang vehicles may exhibit a buzz or tick noise from the headlamp switch bezel while driving. To address this concern add a 10mm (3/8") x 60mm (2 3/8") piece flocking tape (164-4903) from the Rotunda Squeak and Rattle Kit (164-4900) to the headlamp switch bezel right side edge. Remove the headlamp switch bezel and add the tape to the right side edge folding the tape over the edge at the center of the edge. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), section 417-01 Headlamp Switch Removal and Installation for procedure on bezel removal and installation. Use applicable service labor operations in Section 11 of SLTS manual

Had the TSB done today. They had to order a part in yesterday. The switch rattle appears to be gone but I still have a buzz/rattle from the A pillar and also sometimes from the center of the dash and the rear passenger plastic as well.

Do any of you have the TSB #? I can't seem to find any information on it.

Thats because it's an SSM not a TSB, all the info is in the first post.

Gotcha. The guy above had said TSB so I just assumed maybe there was one out for it.

If you tell them you have an intermittent rattle/buzz from the headlight switch, and there is a related SSM, they should get you taken care of with no hassle.

HAHA, that is funny.

That is exactly what I did to my switch a few months ago.

Remove the lower dash trim panel (held on with clips), then one screw holds the headlamp switch on.

I went through and did this myself.

I broke a white plastic clip on the bottom panel removing it (ones that can be replaced).

Pulled the low left panel off and there is a single screw holding the top bezel on.

After the screw is removed the healdight trim bezel panel pops straight out (is held by 4 clips, 2 plastic, 2 metal on plastic.

After that you can remove the headlight switch controller from the assembly by pressing the plastic tabs down and pushing the assembly outward.

I lined the inner ring around the controller with felt and pressed it back in. It locked in much, much more firmly this time then OEM. I also added some strips of felt around edges of the trim piece.

Will report back.
