After a couple of track days and some hot brakes (especially in August) in my GT PP, I thought I would try a fabrication project. I wasn’t happy to delete the front fogs to add the JLT kit, so went with a home made solution using a stock GT lower grille and parts from the JLT kit.

Build is in progress.

Left and right blocked honeycomb removed.

Enough bezel on the rear to add the 2.5” hose.

Looks good. A lot of guys, myself included, took the path of forming and mounting the Full Tilt Boogie Racing bezel to the backside of the outer portion of the lower grill (same you're using). Works great, and FTBR uses 3" tubing.

I wonder at high speed if this would create any aero issue? Like front end lift at say 160+ mph? Just curious.

It does look very clean and I image it would get some cooler air to the brakes.

So after being out of the country for a month, I got back to the workbench this evening.
I also started the removal of the fender liners and bumper, then saw that right where my Duct hose and bezel will sit has a major clash with my Adaptive Cruise control sensor.

After reading through several threads where whipple owners and intercooler fitting have had big issues with any movement of the ACC sensor. The radar sensor should sit behind the blanked plate of the 50th anniversary lower grill.

Others who have wanted to change the lower grill for Roush or RTR have also had issues.
The dash throws up constant errors for ACC and collision warnings if the sensor is messed about with.

I guess the cooling project has hit a roadblock. I don’t particularly want to go for the lamp delete and JLT kit.

Any ideas..?
