I'm thinking the VW 5 is not quite the same as the original Audi 5? The new Audi 5 is definitely different from the original, as it has an aluminum block.

I've owned all flavors: 10V, 20V, 10V turbo & 20V turbo - all bulletproof.

Anyone remember the production chassis Audi 200 sedans, affectionately named "the Ant Eater", with their inline 5 turbo hanging out over the front trouncing the tube framed American Muscle race cars to win the championship in the 1988 Trans Am? I was at the Meadowlands race that year - cut down a big Audi banner after the race - still hanging in my Wife's garage.

The new five may be aluminum but the old five was iron block.

We owned a 12 VW Jetta with the 5ycl, N/A albeit, but it was good. the 5cyl is unique and I can only imagine it on BOOOOST!
I had a 2004 Volvo S60R with a boosted 5. It was a lot of fun to drive when it was not in the shop. The engine was always solid, the rest of the car...not so much.

C&D does a comparison test in the March issue between the Cayman S and TT RS. The RS did 0-60 in 3.2 and the 1/4 in 11.6 @ 119. WOW!

Audi... literally EVERYONE I know who owns or has owned one more than 3 years old owns an oil burning device and the interior "aluminum" trim pieces are flaking off. Garbage cars, IMO. I'm no Ford die-hard, but I'd rather have a GT350 over any Audi.

Don't know about all of that...they do break just like all cars but the two I've owned aren't cheap poorly built crap like the Murican junk. I do agree with the oil leaking (usually just valve covers or timing chain covers) but they're great cars. The beauty in owning the murican junk is the parts are cheap as hell in comparison.

Just seen the first GT350 go under $40k on autotrader, The original owner probably paid $5-$10k ADM on that car aswell. Wouldnt really call that holding pretty well

As far as I am concerned, ADM shouldn't count toward depreciation. Ford priced the car at what they thought it was worth. I would start figuring my depreciation from MRSP.

I would like a link to this under 40k GT350 as I have a friend who would buy it if its not a salvage title, something wrong or a non track pack. He wants a new track car and that would fit the bill:)

I think a lot of dealers overpaid for GT350's last spring/summer and are now stuck with the car. Case in point. I called on a 2016 Tech pack that is listed for sale at $50,000. Car has just under 10,000 miles on it with 4 tires already replaced. Carfax shows a bunch of warranty repairs have been done to the car with the trans being replaced and now is a Ford buy back. Dealer said they were into it $48,500 and would probably raise the price come spring.
