So the exhaust I want has black tips for nearly $200 more than the silver tips. Anyone ever vinyl wrapped their exhaust tips or have any words of wisdom, curious how this would workout.

You'd have better luck with plasti dip, I'd pay the extra 200 though.

I'd scuff them down with 240 grit paper, clean them with soap and water then paint them with high temp spray bomb.

Pay the 200, the manufacturer knows how to make them black without having issues. Vinyl and plastidip are terrible ideas for exhaust. It will turn into black gum almost instantly

They do make high heat vinyl for brake calipers, not sure they’d hold up to exhaust.

see thats what I was thinking, because surely the brakes get much hotter than the exhaust tips would. I will more than likely just eat the $200 as the shops around me have all said they can paint them but their paint isnt intended for high heat areas. I looked into having a shop paint my calipers and ran into the same issue. I have even asked if they would warranty the paint for like 6 months just in case and was told nope. so I'm not very trusting of them if they aren't confident enough to warranty the product they're using for me.

Get the powdered. Should be about $100 or so. I had my tips done in bronze to match the wheels. Unless youre straight piping then you are fine.

Had my SLP tips ceramic coated and they're holding up very well so far. Think it cost me something like $70.

However, in addition since that wasn't enough for me, I did also take some hi temp enamel and paint the mufflers back myself. Also, holding up well. Just take your time, use a good primer and multiple coats.

Clearly you need to drive it around for abit and park it and get out and grab the exhaust since you don't know how hot that really gets.

They make high temp spray paint for headers so it would definitely hold up on the tips. Still wouldn't have as nice a finish as the 200 dollar finish I bet.
