I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I regret not getting the Recaro seats in my 2018. I was looking into the Ford Racing ones. Some vendors claim that the 15-17 FR Recaro's (M-63660005-ME) will fit a 2018. But FR has a new part number for 2018's. (M-63660005-MF) I'm assuming there must be some difference between 15-17 and 18. In most of the ford racing catalogue, they just extend the 15-17 part numbers to 18's. Not create a whole new part number like they did for the seats. Has anyone added either part to their 18? I'm just trying to buy something that will drop right in and not cause any dash lights for airbags or such. And if there is no difference, I could just get a set of 15-17 take-offs from eBay and save some money. The worst part is, the 2018 Ford Racing part number is not available anywhere from any vendor yet. Thanks.

I don't know if they'll be a direct fit. I would look at a 15-17 seat brackets and location and compare to yours. I looked at an 18 GT last weekend and compared it to a Focus ST at the dealership. I was wondering if Focus ST seats would bolt up to my stang. No chance. I think they're the same though. Only thing that changed from 15-17 interior wise, was the dash I believe.

One other thing, I'm 5'11 with a 38" waist and muscle build. Those Recaro's are painful. I suggest going to a meet and asking to sit in someones Recaro's before you spend the money.

Nothing in the interior of the 18 has changed that would require different seating positions, etc so I'm not sure why they wouldn't.

I want the cloth recaros. I have no interest in the leather ones.
Man, I wish they offered those without me trying to track down a set on ebay or something.

It has to do with this.

Thanks for the replies! I am only 5' 8'' 150 lbs so I fit just fine in any Recaro's. In fact, this is the first car I've ever purchased without Recaro's. 3 Evo's, 1 Mustang GT, 1 Focus RS - all had Recaro's and I loved them. I just didn't want to spend the extra money on the 400A or 401A package just to get Recaro's in the 18.

Anyhow, I did see some info that the airbags may be the difference. I just don't understand why AM says the 15-17 ones will fit an 18. I believe they are wrong.

That’s a possibility, since the 2018 steering wheel-mounted airbag is also different than a 2015-2017 version. So even though the seats will bolt in perfectly fine like older S550s, your SRS system might not like it and throw an error code.

or you have a bad back
I’m slender and have a bad back. I did not find the Recaros comfortable at all. The guy who suggested try before you buy is right on the mark.
