This will be my next mod. Just trying to decide between your mesh or the swat mesh right now... What made you pick this one over the swat mesh?
I hadn't seen anyone try this mesh so I figured I'd try it after looking at the gallery pics. Worst case was my lost time on the project if I didn't like it. Originally, I was going to get a sheet of the XX diamond mesh that looks similar to what Ford uses on the GT350. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out but could just as easily been happy with the diamond mesh. It's a fun little project.

I went with mesh because I thought it more closely matched the original grill material of my 1965 Mustang Fastback that I owned 30 years ago. I liked that look and I had a cobra emblem in that grill also. Just reliving my past again except with a lot faster and better handling car.

Thank you so much for the inspiration Boston23! that looks EXACTLY like what I want for my car. I love the added touch of the ABS backing plate. You nailed it. Great job and great write up!!!

Any chance of a pic back on the car? Thanks in advance.

Tim, thanks for the kind words. I have a few pics but they were taken in bad lighting. I'll try to get something this weekend.

What a project, thank's for sharing too! Consider bigworm accents for your hood vents?

Thanks. I've thought about the accent on the heat extractor vs painting it all black but also considering a PTM RPI extractor. Decisions, decisions.

Here's some with the bumper back on the car.
I liked ur write up so much I ordered a replacement shell set and grill material for my vert. Nice job! Every bit as nice as the grills that are 3x the price.

Well, I finally got around to completing this just as explained in this thread. It took quite a bit of time, but it turned out really well and I could not be happier. Thanks again for the inspiration and writeup Boston23! here is a few pics, let me know what you guys think.
