I like my Roush with stock resonator. I don't mind the rasp. Blip downshifts are nice and crispy with a good bark. I turn a lot of heads with it but the drone is minimal and not unbearable.

I'm not knocking everyone that loves the stock GT exhaust on their V6, but I found the difference to be very subtle and still too quiet for my taste. Yes, it did make the tone a little lower, and ever so slightly louder when accelerating hard, but very little if any change when just cruising.

I do agree this is more like the car should've sounded from the factory, and with GT take-off exhausts so cheap and easy to install, it is a great 1st mod just to see if it's enuf for you.

IMO a mustang should still sound more aggressive though, so I'm definitely going with something from the aftermarket, and another benefit of the GT cat-back is there's a lot more and cheaper choices for resonator deletes than there is for the stock V6 exhaust.

I've lost too much sleep on making a better note/noise.
So I ordered an 18GT :D

No active exhaust. I'll be happy with the stock exhaust on my daily driver.

Well active exhaust is a stock exhaust option now so no reason not to go all the way big!

I had listened to about all the aftermarket sound clips and more or less settled on the (pricey) Borla ATAK. However the GT video sounds amazingly similar to me, anyone? The GT catbacks are fairly plentiful around here, a '17 on the local CL right now asking $300. Might give it a shot.

Joe B. if that $300 is for a plain ol GT exhaust take-off...tell the guy you're not paying a damn penny over $100. It is a decent upgrade, but no way in hell is it worth that much.

ROFL Grats man... I went for a 2015 V6 to a 2018 GTPP with no active exhaust.
Believe me....you'll be happy.

I just had my dad drive it yesterday so I could hear it from the outside....it sound like a lion roaring.

Had the switched "instant glasspacks" on my '12 'vette. One of those things like HUD, you didn't know you needed it 'till you have it.

Well I got my Ford Racing mufflers welded on today, first impression is that they sound great. It was just a quick 5 minute drive back from the shop to work and raining, but definitely a bit louder. Hopefully get some better weather later this week.

I read on the first post that op runs 87 octane... Can someone with experience share the pros and cons of running 87 octane vs 91?

Post in your area forum a take off GT exhaust. Most people just want it out of their garage and can be had for less than $100
