I want my next Mustang to be this exact color combo, just a GT.

Great write up. That's really odd Ford didn't use LED for the overhead interior lights.

Does the exhaust sound any better than before?
The below is a 100% stock to stock comparison, as I never installed my aftermarket exhaust I bought for my 2016, due to all of the warranty issues I was having with other areas of the vehicle.

Coming from my 2016 EB Premium PP, I always thought the exhaust had a nice burble/rumble to it, especially at lower cruising RPM. Even if driving w/windows up and the rear ceiling mic disabled, the exhaust was still really audible and had a slight growl to it.

The 2018 does sound different - but I’m not sure what (if any) exhaust {down pipe cat, resonator or mufflers}, cylinder head, manifold or manufacturing sound deadener/sealant differences exist between a 2016 and 2018. From the 2018 interior, it’s actually quieter, there is still a burble/rumble but does not seem to be as pronounced as my 2016.

If anyone knows if there were such revisions, post’em up!

Thanks for taking the time to write up the review.

My '18 GT Lightning Blue with ceramic seats should be here by the end of the month!

Great write up and nice color combo. Thanks for posting the pic as I ordered the ceramic interior with only the view on the configuration guide. I feel better about my choice seeing your pictures.

I recommend getting the Ford seat cover. Amazon or AM. Bit of a challenge to get it on the electric seat, but it fits well. It will keep your driver's seat like new. If it was easier to get on and off, you could take it off just for Date Night or Cars & Coffee.

But it will surely keep your ceramic driver's seat clean.

More info for those looking to get into a 2018 EB w/PP:

The 2018 EB w/PP now comes with a factory installed over the engine black strut tower bar and ties both tops of the strut towers together. This is the same part available via Ford Performance website.

This piece was not part of the 2015-2017 PP options and most added this or other aftermarket strut bar to their EB’s.

Also to note:

1) Radiator Support cover (all 2018’s):
If anyone had purchased the Ford Performance black radiator cover for their 2015-2017, that part will not work on the 2018’s (same would be true for any other aftermarket radiator support covers). The 2018 front rad support, headlight areas, inner bracing structure and existing rad cover mounting points are totally different from the 2015-2017’s.

2) Aftermarket CAI (specific to the EcoBoost):
I inquired about the Injen aftermarket closed CAI system (Item 389839 MPN# EVO9200) - the 2015-2017 part will not fit the 2018’s according to American Muscle support staff. I cannot confirm and do not know if this would apply to other aftermarket CAI’s that were specific to 2015-2017 EB. Looking at the rad structure and the immediate surrounding areas of the factory air box, it appears that the inner fender structure slopes downward more so than the 2015-2017’s - that’s my only guess as to why AM says the 2015-2017 Injen CAI will not work. Possible hood clearance isssues???

Like the 4 banger PP wheels way better than gt pp wheels! If my gt insurance costs around $110 per month, how much less is eco boost insurance?

Another new revision in the 2018 PP’s:

Track or Drag mode is now available with the flick of the lower center stack drive “Mode” switch!

Gotta love the 2018’s! :)
