Not sure if I agree Z, the 2007 GT500 was revealed in March 2005 at the auto show. A 2020 GT500 is really only 15-18 months from going on sale. We’re in that window now
Agree, we get intro in 2018. Why couldn't it be on sale in spring 2019? Makes more sense. But, you might be right if they do like the 350 and limit it late 2019.

I am thinking Ford should offer the following options:

1 Rear seat delete

2. Air conditioner delete

3. Heater delete. Don't need a heater when the GT500 is not driven when temps below 40 degrees because tires need to be at plus 40 degrees.

Without air or heat there will only be a handful of days per year where the car will be comfortable to drive here in MN.

That is a huge “what if”!! I could only see that happening on the large tracks where the 500 can use its power advantage, though I doubt it’ll weigh that much.

I don't think it will, but allot of people are thinking that. Only Ford knows

I think Ford will try to keep it under at least 4000 lbs. I think it will basically be like a higher HP GT350R.

Not actually possible unless it had upwards of 900hp.

The cheap steel unibody, wheelbase, and a lot of other geometries prevent the Mustang from being in the same league as the corvette for outright performance.

Sad fact is it might beat the 1LE, but I’m not honestly sure.

I ordered my 1985 5.O LX without air conditioning and drove it all Summer with no issues. The only roads I don't drive it on are gravel roads because I don't want dust coming in with the windows down. I would never drive an expensive GT500 on a gravel road and have it dinged up by gravel. No air option is a great option.

The GT500 will come out about the same time as the C8 mid engine Vette. That’s a car that many car enthusiasts have been waiting for. Just like when Ford crashed the ZL1 party years ago with the Trinity GT500, GM will do the same.

The ME vette is going to be on another level, in looks and performance. I'm a ford guy and I'm looking forward to the ME corvette more than the GT500. it's a Mid Engine for crying out loud and from the renders it will look great (aside from the Logo on the front and back). it's base engine won't be a show stopper, somewhere in the low 500s, but the 5.5 TT will be around 800, which will be crazy in a sub 3500lb car
