I can only imagine the sound at 9,000, good God man!If it really turns 9k rpm I have a lot of saving to do.
Sadly, the wife would kill me if I tried to buy one.

Very well stated.I would not call what Blue said as snobby but truthful really. You can literally make any car fast. There is a 92 Civic that run at Palm Beach that does 1/4 in 8 secs.
The discussion though is what the Gt500 will be when it comes out. If your happy with your 15 Procharge, then you would never be in the market for this car in the first place. To say though your car will whip this one...well that remains to be seen. A modded car vs stock is always a crazy convo to be have, but a Procharger on a 15 does not make a world beater. In truth, unless you have done some significant upgrades, it doubtful a 15 Procharge Mustang will take the new GT500 in straight line at all. But I could be wrong.
In the end it will be interesting to see what the GT500 is capable of, and what the cost will be. I am excited to see what comes next. Then of course the discussion of how fast it is or should be can be had. But as demon owners are finding out....there is always someone faster.
I understand that you're fairly inactive here... Bmac usually knows what he's talking about. I'd take his word when he says there's no N/A CPC 5.2 in the worksThat car is a GT350 with a 5.2 CPC
Honestly, I highly doubt that. At this point, it's all speculation. But Ford's 5.2 FPC was the largest FPC V8 ever made, and from an engineering standpoint, shouldn't even run without tearing itself into pieces. Luckily, Ford was able to work some magic with harmonic balancing, but you can only do so much.is said to be available with a 9000rpm 5.5L DOHC FPC V8, which will eventually be available turbocharged!
fixedThis is very cool and could give some idea of what we might see under the bonnet of the big bad snake if Trump completely gets rid of the EPA and CAFE standards and mandates that race fuel must be available at all gas pumps from now on..

You missed something.... What the hell with the 150MPH TOP SPEED? :lol:fixed
That was the 1/4 mile trap speed in the 8 second range I thought. You missed something.... What the hell with the 150MPH TOP SPEED?
Exactly. That was the 1/4 mile trap speed in the 8 second range I thought.
The GT500 running similar times to a ZR1 is probably unreasonable, for the power to weight ratio alone. I think you're likely to have the GT500 hit between C7 Z06 and ZR1 levels stock in the straight line.I saw where a 2019 ZR1 Corvette ran a 10.12 in the quarter. I hope the GT500 can run at least low 10's. The bar just keeps getting higher on performance which is pretty cool, not sure when it will end.

My bad then haha :headbonk:Exactly.
Based on what we’re hearing I would agree. Though I read the new gt3rs was using new sport cup 2 R tires, and I remember in the recent photos the tires had all the specs scrapped off. So maybe they are going to use a new R compound tire that could be a real advantage from a standstill and grip. The GT500 running similar times to a ZR1 is probably unreasonable, for the power to weight ratio alone. We already saw how it will look, they will leave that section as it is... they will just paint it in black.I hope they do away with that section of front bumper that runs across the front grill.
Chevy was able to do it with the ZL1, I hope they realize how average this car will look if they don't address that.
I heard from an insider that the LT1 would get bumped up in power to be the base motor and that it would be replaced a year or two later with a N/A DOHC V8. There will also be a 4.6L Twin-Turbo V8(Z06?) and a 5.4L Twin-Turbo V8(ZR1?). DCT only, RWD only. Base price is expected to be below $70,000, and production WILL start September 2019.The two corvettes will co-exist for a few years. Both FR and MR will have the 460HP 6.2L NA as base engine (Maybe it gets a bump in hp when used in the ME Corvette though)
