So had my car in for ac Evap core replacement as well as a new AC compressor. I drove the car home from the dealer about 12 miles and parked it. I popped the hood for a routine inspection and found an oil leak from this sensor which I think is a cam sensor but please correct me if I am wrong. WTF ford somehow I think this is goign to be a big deal to fix.

See pics.... sad face

My guess is someone simply spilled oil there filling the motor after an oil change. Clean it up, bet it doesn't get wet with oil again. That's just a valve cover, no reason to leak there. If it is a leak, probably no big deal to fix.

No, I do all my oil changes and no oil was spilled there. The dealership did not do any oil service at all.

I was thinking spilled oil as well mainly due to the spot directly to the left. Looks like a oil drop spot. Sure they did not top it off????
Maybe not oil but some fluid spill related to the repair? I have no clue what that would be but the one spot did not leak it's self from the sensor up into the air and then drip down the valve cover. I guess with wind while driving maybe it could??

Dunno???

Looks like a drop or two from adding oil to me also. Why not clean it up and watch it a couple of days to see if it reappears?

That looks like spilled oil. If that gasket failed you'd have a very small sip of oil not droplets of oil. Either way replacing that grommet/seal is incredibly easy.

Unplug it and wipe it down. If it comes back it looks like a smple case of the sensor sitting in a rubber grommet type housing. Probably a straight forward replacement.

Disconnecting the VCT will allow you to pull the grommet out and around the sensor. The Solenoid requires the valve cover to be removed as it is bolted to the head.

I cleaned it up and have been driving it for 2 days or so. No leaks so I guess it is spilled oil related to my recent AC service. Feel kind of stupid lol but glad its not anything bad. Thanks for the help !
Stupid would have been if it did not catch your attention. Glad it was nothing. Keep enjoying that great "mochine"
