I posted about this too a few days after I got my car. It sounds vaguely turbo DV like.

I'm wondering if they actually engineered the sound to be heard like that. It's actually a pleasant sound.

I didn't hear it once today. Rather upset, I was looking forward to the noise.

Agreed, I have to admit I was wondering what the frig is doing that, but I like it!

Me too

Just got my A10 GT last week. Yes, mine make a supercharger-like whining sound. As long as nothing's wrong, I dig it.

So, does anyone with the standard 3.15 have the same whine?

Couldn't pick it up from your vimeo vid.

But if it sounds sort of like this . . .
. . . it's apparently been fairly normal with some transmissions being noted for doing so more than others.

Norm
It much more subtle than that. I only hear is when slowing down and no throttle, which is what gives it the turbo DV feel.

I would say mine is too. But this is windows down, going from 3rd, 2nd, 1st. Only someone that posts on a car forum would even notice, lol.

I'm sure many of us here are old enough to remember those GM rock crusher's from back in the day. Now that was a whine.

I had not noticed it until yesterday when I stood outside while my friend drove it for pictures. It sounds like precision machinery at work. I like it.

I have a 3.15 car and mine makes the sound also. It seems to be less noticeable now but I believe the Corsa sport exhaust is why I don't hear it now. It definitely sounds like a tease of a supercharger.

I had always wondered if it was just mine, I feel a lot better knowing its common. I do like the S/C like sound though. When you drive it through parking structure, the combination of the whine and the exhaust make it sound like an absolute beast!
