I admire your enthusiast in writing so many paragraphs, but hard to know what point you are trying to make with so many words.

Can you send us the twitter version?

For anyone interested... per a leaked CARB document on AutoGuide, the 2019 Camaro appears to have an option for the Corvette's 7 speed manual. Additionally, there's no mention on it of a ZL1 or a 10 speed auto, so maybe the ZL1 is being discontinued and replaced by the Carbon-ceramic brake Z/28? Just some insight on the competition

That adds more fire to a theory I've had with the new gen.

Outside of basic GT trim, Chevy doesnt want to compete head to head with the top tier mustangs. The 350R has no competition. They come out with the zl1 instead. So then the gt500 enters... and the ZL1 looks to end production. Likely a z28 will then enter and have no direct competition. Lame game of dodgeball.

What are you talking about? The 350R is Ford's ˜$85K (real asking prices) 2-seat sports car.

Chevy has a nearly a dozen variations of 2 seat sports car from $55K on up that match or beat the Ford 2-seater. It's called the Corvette.

People here don't seem to get into their heads. Ford has a single mainline (i.e. excluding the limited run Ford GT) rear wheel drive car platform - the Mustang in all its variations. That program runs on a shoestring.

Chevy amortizes their RWD car platform development across Camara, Corvette, ATS-V, CTS-V and can invest over 4 times as much as Ford.

That is why it took 8 years for Ford to come up with mag-shocks, and even then their tuning is way off the mark.

There is simply no way the Mustang can ever match the Camaro, when GM has so much more money to invest in their 4-5 RWD performance car program. Just imagine where the Camaro would be without the ATS/CTS Alpha platform and the Corvette running gear (e-LSD, engine, tranny, etc). That is what the Mustang is.

Just go buy the 1LE and be done with it. Stop pretending you are “considering” a PP2. It is a fake act.

I don't think you have that quite right. The 5th Gen Z28 didn't come out until 2014 which was 4 years into the 5th Gen and the first year of the 5th Gen refresh. So if they follow the same schedule, then it won't come out again until 2020. And there are already talks of it coming out. So you're kinda wrong about that there. Also GM has plenty of vehicles to compete with the GT350s. The SS 1LE does a very good job of keeping up with the GT350 and can hang with the GT350R. The ZL1 beats both of them. And the ZL1 1LE, well let's just say that even the GT500 might have it's hands full there. As far as ending production of the ZL1...where are you getting that info? The ZL1 has been steady with an exception of 2016 which was the first year of the 6th Gen. I don't see how GM is ducking Ford when they've been pretty much beating Ford for a while now.

You're joking, right?? you have to be kidding, no one could possibly be THIS misinformed

1. *comparing dealer prices from one brand to MSRP from another* a true sign of fanboy-ism
2. Who in the hell compares a 2 door sedan to an all out sports car?
3. where are you getting 8 years? Try less than half that... Chevy first implemented it on the 2012 ZL1, Ford implemented it on the 2015 GT350. Totally an 8 year gap there, right?
4. Tuning way off the mark? The GT350 has some of the best suspension tuning of almost any pony car aside from MAYBE the ZL1 1LE. General Motors Trend already placed the GT350 above the ZL1 despite the lap times, and as far as I know, the only thing that gives the 1LE the edge is the huge gap in actual measurable performance.
5. As we learn from all the failed Corvette drivers out there, money does not equal skill. The mustang holds it's own just fine against the Camaro, despite the difference in money.

Like I said before, go ahead back to Camaro6 now, sweetheart. They won't hurt you over there

Fixed it for you. The GT350 hasn’t beat anything, only the R.

Fair enough, but also close enough... throw some MPSC2s on a GT350 and it performs damn near an R. Really not much drastic difference between the 2 like there is with ZL1 and ZL1 1LE

I'm not suggesting to mod a GT350 Simply saying the biggest difference between the R and Non-R is tires. Other than that, they're almost the same

Haha, you’re nuts. You’re comparing marked up pricing to MSRP? Stop it, please…you’re making a fool of yourself.

Hmm, show me a 4-seater corvette….or did you forget that you can get the GT350R with the rear seat option? Again, just stop it.

Man are you obtuse. Even with parts sharing….they all cost money. In the end, without enough sales….any one of those vehicles could be toast. While the mustang keeps chugging along, selling ass-loads, the camaro continues to struggle. For such a “superior” platform, the buying public sure as hell doesn’t like it as much as the mustang….or even the charger.

What? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Seriously dude, you need to brush up on your lap time information.

Man, with 124 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque more, I should hope it would. It really kicked the GT350R’s ass by running 0.4 seconds quicker around the track didn’t it?

The ZL1 1LE is an all-out track car, plain and simple. It’s completely worthless for driving on public roads. Hell, there are idiots that are currently trying to figure out how to make their ZL1 1LE’s livable so they can actually drive them on the roads.

The GT500 is not going to try to compete with an all-out track car plain and simple.
