in regards to changing tire size from 305/35 to 325/30.

i went to the local ford dealer today and spoke with the service manager. according to him, if the forescan/mx speedo code change was done by me and not by them, and then entered into the computer on his desk, it voids the warranty. his reasoning is because it directly effects the mileage which is part of the warranties limit. he has no problem doing it for me. but he recommended the rubber be put on else where cuz his mechanics are brutal and will prob scratch the rims.

with that i will be taking the r spec wheels with 325/30 and 305/30 to discount tire to be mounted then dropping them off at the dealer with the car so they can put on the new wheels and re-program the speedo while its in the air. this way the mileage will not be effected.

i dont know about the service managers elsewhere, but im not taking that chance if something goes wrong in the future.
Dealer couldn’t change mine. They charged me 55 bucks to hook it up and then tell me they could not adjust it. I ended up doing it myself with forscan.

If you have a non-R GT350 and are going to 325/30 from 305/35, most are the same diameter (27”). Why would you need to change ?

new to forscan

Hi I am a new user to Forscan.

I am having trouble

it says " Connection to the vehicle has been established"

then it says "Unable to identify the vehicle. Please contact developers"

it asks if I have a custom tune in the vehicle - which I do

then it asks me to enter the codes from the computer.

these are the numbers on the cars computer

H/W: FR3A-12B684-EUA

P/N: GR3A-12A650-BUA

SITE: M799G

P/N: A6SXU24520300
S/N: 049104916

What number is it looking for?

I tried the top two and no luck

Thanks

LOL

Plenty of dealers try to do this for their customers, but they're limited to the canned values (as in what came as OEM tire size) with IDS or whatever they're using now. It's especially common with the F150 guys, since they have a tendency to throw a 6" lift on and fit massive tires so they can turn a nicely riding truck into a disaster of a brodozer.

No f'ing way it voids the warranty. I'd shop around for a better dealership.

Hey JCSIX13,
I have no experience with tunes, but I thought you might want to contact your tuner to see if they have the codes forscan is asking for. Also, the Forscan site has it’s own forum and your question might be addressed somewhere in there.

Good luck:cheers:

Earlier, I’d asked if the 305 and the 325 are the same diameter, why would you need to adjust the speedo ?

boost/vacuum gauge

Does anyone know if it is possible to get the dash center gauge to show boost/vacuum gauge like the eco boost in the GT350?

Thanks

They aren’t the same diameter though. The wider you go in the same series (35) the bigger the diameter. The series number represents the percentage of the width and is the value of the sidewall. So taking a 305 width and a 325 width the 325 width is going to have a larger value in the sidewall height. This sidewall height is added twice to the wheel diameter to calculate the diameter. Going to 325 is an increase in overall diameter.

They aren't the same series, he is talking about 305/35 and 325/30. In this case the 325 tires is 3/4" smaller in diameter.

Thanks for the clarification, could have sworn the diameters were the same when I looked them up, guess I will try the Forscan solution as I am going to 325's soon.

Honestly, 3/4 inch change in diameter is within the range of speed variance you'd see on the OEM tire between full tread and fully worn. I wouldn't sweat it that much.
