Left side kept “unsnapping” and now has finally quit “resnapping” back into place. I’m guessing there is some kind of cheap plastic fastener that has broken. Anyone had to replace one of these? Hopefully this doesn’t require replacing the entire cover.

The plastic that covers the bottom portion and have the four knobs that have to be unscrewed in each corner?

Unscrew the (4) knobs. Lift the black plastic panel straight up and then over the screw studs where the knobs were attached. Look at the back of the black plastic panel, there should be (4) “L” shaped molded pieces of plastic.

Look at back of sheet metal taillight panel, you will see (4) cutouts where the “L’s“ from the plastic panel cover will slide into. All (4) of those “L’s” have to slide into those slots in the sheet metal, if they don’t, the black plastic panel will not sit or latch correctly against the metal taillight panel.

Sure if it’s installed incorrectly, the (4) knobs will still screw on, but the panel surely won’t be aligned correctly and could explain why it keeps coming unsnapped.

Are any of those “L’s” broken off of the plastic?
