Blasted Key Fob!!

Is there a replacement for these huge key fobs? When I first got the car, I was sitting in a meeting and someone came in to ask if the Mustang with the alarm going off was mine. I put my keys in my back pocket and I must've sat on it, setting off the alarm.

Tonight, I washed my car because it looked like a good night to do it. While washing the car, I slipped the keys into my back pocket. Fast forward two hours later and my son was going out. He said he was going to take my car since the windows were down! What? I just washed the car, I never put the windows down after washing due to streaks. It turns out that when I sat down to dinner, I sat on the freakin' monstrous key fob and activated the window down option. BTW, I didn't know how to do that, but I figured it out now.

Can I get a different key fob for the Mustang? This thing is designed so horribly and is sooooo huge!

How about you just don't put it in your back pocket?

I don't like bulky items in my front pockets either. I always carry my wallet in one back pocket and keys have been in the other pocket for over 30 years. If not in the back pockets, or the front pockets, then where?

I don't know. If you kept your cell phone in your back pocket you would either keep butt dialing or cracking your screen. How did you solve that?

Thanks, I imagine the one you posted that was on amazon wouldn’t work and was for another vehicle, right? That’s what I found too when doing a quick search. Never purchased a fob besides the original ones that come with the car before though so just wanted to make 100% sure.

to be on the sure side it helps to call up any dealer's parts and confirm

I've had the same issues, planning on buying a fob cover. The aluminum ones end up recessing the buttons. Would make it harder to accidently hit.

I've hit the panic button countless times while in my pocket..this new fob is harder to press I have the same on the edge

Can't say I've ever accidentally set off the alarm but I have turned off the engine after remote starting a few times.

Is the only way to program this is to take it to ford? Any idea how much they charge?

Key fob programming is covered in the cars manual, you do it in the cupholder.
