Got one about a month ago. I didn’t like the OEM shifter but I also didn’t want something that looked outwardly aftermarket. Found that the black on black look was best for the job. Easy and fuss free installation and I love it!!!

Smooth as silk operation, looks great and matches the interior perfectly.

It’s so much better than the OEM shifter, and makes going from ‘D’ drive to ‘S’ sport a natural and easy operation that I now use frequently.

Australian CAMS rules dictate that you need FIA specification flame retardant gloves which are chunky. No problem in a manual car, but can make quick switching drive modes in the Mustang 10R80 auto a pain with the OEM knob.

The Barton shifter is a lot easier to just reach/grab/change than the OEM selector, which is common for when you can’t use the paddle selectors easily (when cornering).


Pros:
* positive and sure feel with drive selection when compared to OEM shifter
* easier to go from S to D and back
* doesn’t look like a horses pe**s (unlike OEM)
* better grip when drive selecting (allows quicker reach/grab/change)
* well machined mating point to transmission selector post (no sloppy feel at all)

Cons:
* on summer days it can get slightly hotter than the OEM shifter when the car is sitting out in the sun.
* in years to come it may need a quick re-grease if it gets tight.
