I noticed this a few weeks ago when I was putting the car away for the winter. I very strongly want to say this was not on the car when I bought it, I figure I would have noticed it when I've had the trunk open multiple times.

Just curious if anyone else has something like this going on, I will most likely point it out to the dealer come spring and get it on record in case it spreads.

Looks like dirt imbedded in the paint.

Is the trunk aluminum like the hood? Reminds me of the "leading edge hood" problem.

I figured it's some type of impurity in the paint finish

AFAIK only the front of the car is aluminum, the back isn't.
A magnet will help with that determination...

No, the trunk is also aluminum. My trunk had corrosion on the bottom part. It was also hitting the rear bumper and tail lights. A magnet does not stick to it and it's also very very thin. That's how people end up denting them while prying up the spoiler if switching them out haha.

I’ve got 4 spots like this on my 2016. Did you get this resolved?
