I'll have to try this because that WiFi message is killin' me.

Do people TEST update releases anymore? Even Apple is screwing the pooch...

Did you forget the known networks first?
Yup. When I then connect again and then try to do an update it fails and then continues to keep bringing up that message even when I'm driving :headbonk:

Yeah, doesn't work for me. I'm having bad luck.
i have this same issue randomly.

i also noticed when i changed the volume it shows up at zero then jumps to 5 or whatever i'm moving it too.

no amount of wifi finagling seems to work to get rid of that dumbass prompt.

something i noticed in 3.0 is that when listening to AM there is a setting to auto-tune to AM in HD, very nice

Is it okay to upgrade Sync 3 v1.0 (w/nav) straight to 3.0 that's posted by op?

I would recommend that you update to the latest official release from the Ford web-site 2.x so you at least have an official record for your car (your car will need to registed on the Ford web-site to do this).

You can then upgrade to 3.0. It's only about an extra 45 minutes to do both upgrades.

I tried to do the upgrade for the second time yesterday, 32GB USB formatted exFAT in a 2016 Sync 3 non-nav after doing a factory reset. I was following this guide. It still failed.
I have the exact same problem...I have a Non-Navi Sync 3.

Details: I have a new SanDisk 32GB 3.0 USB drive formatted to exFAT via my Mac. I tried version 3.0 and it looked like it was updating and even said it was successful but I was still at version 1.0 after restart. Did a factory rest, and then tried what I believe is version 2.3 as seen in attachment. I got it from myFord back in August. It fails after it tries to update for a few minutes and gives me the out of space or version issue error message. :frusty:

That's not v2.3... it wasn't yet out in August.
You should download the latest update from owner.ford.com

Confirmed - dowloaded and successfully updated from 2.3 to 3.0 (w Nav) using a 32 GB USB stick. All works fine but not sure I noticed any visual differences. What would I look for?
