Here's a link to a vid I made of some laps I made at Cayuga, this track in the vid posted. Please note this was the first time I have ever tracked any car let alone my 350.

Sounded like your instructor really liked your car:)

What was he driving?

Cayuga is not a fast track. I am not surprised the M2 kept up on it, it is difficult to put a lot of power down there.

Haha no I was. That was my buddy not an instructor. He has a 16 GTPP with a Roush blower.

For sure very tight little track more suited for a little hot hatch or compact. There were a lot of Subaru's, Mitsubishi's and a couple S2000's out there.

Not a lot of room to go flat out for a Stang, Camaro or Challenger

:cheers: I'd love to see the same comparison on the big track at Mosport. Id wager the results would be very different given.

Who the hell ever buys a mustang with the intent of being an auto cross king  c'mon guys, every car has it's strong suit, a mustang is a straight line car that happens to be able to turn :ford:

My GT handles the corners as well as my M3 did. The shocks aren't as good and precise but the pure capability is as good if not better.

Skidpads are lame and very abstract to any useful form of handling. There was an article that compared a modified M3 to a stock Mustang GT and showed the Mustang was as fast/faster with both cars on the same tire. That was part of the reason I took the Mustang seriously and ended up buying one.

An F80? I don't think it's even close. The chassis on the F80 M3 is far more composed.

Why not autocross a Mustang?
Mustang GT/EB with PP is fine.

Its more the driver knowing the car.
Sure its not a nimble little mx5 that weighs 1000lbs less but who cares.

Enjoy your cars.

If the M2 is like the 3series I had the door panels will fall off, wheel bearings fail, and it will then blow the head gasket.
