Race shifter for 6R80 AT

I've been told that "any aftermarket shifter designed for the Ford AOD or 4R70W will also work with the 6R80".

Can anyone confirm that?

I'm surprised no one seems to know...

I don't think they will work since you have a 6 speed transmission and a 4 speed shifter with only 1 gate for each gear. A 4 speed shifter usually will work, but you will lose 1st and 2nd if you plan on manually shifting, because there are no gates for 6 gears.


Why not just use the paddles?
