Cigarette lighter always on ?

I use that plug with a USB thingy for charging my phone without connecting to AppleCarplay but it seems like the light on the usb thingy in the plug is always on after I shut the car off.


Does it ever go out ?

Yup dumb question but you guys know the answers. Don’t want to drain the battery.

yes. i have a bad habit of leaving my radar detector plugged in. it's on when i leave but like someone said above it goes out after 1-2 hours.

I let the dash cam on it. I have never noticed it was at off few hours later

It does turn off after an hour or two. I would leave my radar detector plugged in and it would stay for awhile but was always off after an hour or so.

This is great if your charging your phone, but have to stop at the store.

The phone will continue to charge without interruptions for the short time your gone.

But will kill power about 1.5 hours later to prevent battery being drained

That's odd, mine turns off same time as the radio when you open the door, haha.

Based on the online service manual for the 2018 the system has not changed since 2015.

That's an oddly specific default time...
