Hi guys,
Having interest in the 2018 mustang gt perfomance pack 300a i began looking at cars in autotrader.ca and others and was surprised by the fact that our canadian 300a cars seems to be limited to 7000rpm instead of 7400 rpm like the us cars (our cars with the digital screens go to 7400rpm).

For comparison:

I would guess they are using leftover '17 clusters due to the metric vs imperial. I doubt the engine is actually different.
Maybe :) But how cheap would that be for someone who pay more then 50k for a new car to have a leftover cluster???

Metric Conversion

Metric r.p.m.'s are a little slower than American r.p.m.'s, I thought everybody knew that.
Someone beat me to the Metric conversion thing. :)

Ford would not even enable the digital speedo on the 15-17 clusters. They do a ton of silly things like this. I wonder if those clusters have the digital speedo? If so this will be the cluster used. Doesn’t make sense though based on what we have seen with the clusters. Should have the normal 7400 rpm redline though. Or a batch of mistake clusters using the incorrect rpm face.

That photo has to be an old photo just thrown in there by some unknowing bozo. Technically all the cars I have seen have premium features and the GT near me has the digital speedo. All Euro exports have the digital cluster - I believe - which gets a bit interesting as to why change the regular US speedo for smaller markets like Canada when you have the digital? So the question has a grain of legitimacy as it would make sense to just export all as digital. But I digress.

All 2018 Canadian mustang gt produced with wrong dash indicating 7000rpm redline

Seem like all 2018 Mustang GT ship to Canada have arrived with the wrong analog cluster.

There a guy that received is 300A in Montreal and he have the old gauge with 7000 rpm redline instead of 7500 like it should. I have also seen a 301A on internet from a dealer in Missisauga that have also the wrong gauge. I did a search and every Canadian market mustang I have seen with analog gauge have the wrong gauge!!

I have on order a 301A that is being build first week of January.
I have sent a message to Ford in Usa and Canada to see what is going on. More people need to let Ford know about this joke!!

With the 301a package you also get ambience lighting with my color and there is a hallow around both gauge on the usa model but if we get the old gauge the hallow is not there.

I have never seen a car indicated the wrong red line!!!

Ford need to fix this asap. I understand that it is because of the metric gauge but is it because of Ford passing leftover 2017 metric gauge, a mistake from the gauge supplier made on the metric gauge and Ford are stuck with it for now or just because Ford think we are second hand customer and don't deserve the correct gauge in our 40-60k car!!!

I hope Ford understand that for 5 Mustang you see in Canada you only see 1 camaro meaning Mustang are a lot more popular than Camaro in Canada that make Canada a great market for Mustang

Canada 301a vs USA 301a gauge 2018 GT: same difference for 300a and 400a. At least we get the digital Speedo LOL.

The car is not limited to 7000 rpm it's just the gauge that is wrong

This is not just on the 300a package. It's on all Canadian metric analog gauge 2018 GT.
I start a new post about this.

If that’s the case I would demand a digital dash! The dealers only seemed to import premium level on the 2017 GT. But in the 2018 they included the base GT. If they did this last year I would probably by driving a GT now. Having said that if it’s a special order for a small market like Canada you may end up with shit like this. I would demand a digital dash if they gave you an improper speedo. If you ordered base and it came without Sync 3 and you needed it - Guess what, you get that too! It’s all drop in so...

Isn't that an ecoboost? I don't think they have a 7500rpm redline just the gt's do. Plus that looks like 6500rpm
