What torque wrench are you guys using for the oil changes?. I ordered one but I messed up and got a 1/4 inch Drive instead of a 3/8. I'm worried the wrench won't be long enough. I wanted to get a smaller wrench so it would be more accurate at the lower torque settings. Maybe I should just try it and see if it works.

I have one that's similar size. Don't know where you are in FL, but you're welcome to use it if you're in the Tampa area.

That wrench should be fine, just get a 1/4 to 3/8 adapter.

At ~12" long, it should be fine; you'll probably have around 5" of handle sticking out of the access hole to grab on to.

Thanks guys, I have an adapter. I will just give that wrench a try. Stang life, I am pretty close to Tampa, thanks for the offer. I'm actually excited for this will change I just got a set of race ramps from reverse logics and they are awesome. They have 80 inch length with a 10 inch lift hand and 8.6 degree grade. They have the extenders built into them so you don't have to buy them separately.

Isn't there a theory that using adapters or extensions alters the torque reading when using a torque wrench?

If there is, it's wrong. The torque is calculated to the end of the wrench where you attach the socket, and the twisting force is the same, if you keep it perpendicular to the socket, no matter how far away the socket is on the 90 degree.

In other words, the right triangle formed by the wrench and extension with socket, has to have one side the same side at all times, the wrench. How long you make the other of the right angle, it does not matter.

How close? there's a cars and coffee tomorrow at Reeves...then a Mustang show (annual thing from the local club, put on for charity at a dealer in Tampa).

Good call on the 10" lift versions. I have the 8" and found myself really wishing I had that extra 2" of space.
