Have a radar detector and dash cam plugged in.

Thought they might just stay on for couple mins after I turn the engine off. Go check after 30 minutes of car in park and everything off, both are still on.

Just me? This is slightly worrying...

This happened to me in my s197. Seems to be how its made. I left my radar detector on all of the time most days.

That's how the car's built. Unplug everything when you leave the car.

Will it drain enough battery to be an issue if I do leave it plugged in overnight and such?

It will turn off eventually. At least the one in the center console does. I have not tried the front console port.

However, plugged in over night, a good battery will not be drained. A couple days maybe. I find that in my ranger which doesn't have a great battery will die after a few days to a week with my Garmin plugged in. I think it's closer to a week.

The front console port also turns off eventually. I thought it went off in less than 30 minutes last I checked, but I haven't officially timed it.

Anyway, I leave my radar detector plugged in all the time in the front 12V port and have had no issues since I bought the car 3 weeks ago.

As others have said, it will turn off. I leave my Escort plugged in and my USB flash drive.

You guys have never had Fords before? It should stay on, and it's awesome. My wife's Toy shuts off and there is no way of charging anything without the key on, sucks!

5yes, it is on for 90 min. then switches the power off. I found it very convinient for the dashcam as it keeps recording for 90 minutes after I am off in i.e. public parking, etc... but eventually shuts down when I left it for the night...

I as well looked through the manual before I get crucified for not doing that again. It's good for some bedtime reading.

Edit: 90 minutes eh? Yeah that can be useful for any theft or vandalism to the car with the dashcAm. Thanks all!
